Description Character ref sheet 7 of 8.Well this one only took me 6 hours instead of 8 (huff).

Meet Ivan (or otherwise known as Sir Ivan). Once a Knight to a noble man in Nordbotten, Ivan was a loyal and humble servant to his lord, and while away on his masters business, the Lords wife slew him in his sleep. Ivan was heart broken, refusing to return to the castle, instead wandering the Anders and a mercenary. He joined up with a band called the Black Tide, Ivan lied to himself for a while, becoming bitter and sarcastic about life while doing things he wasn’t proud of. While on a job in a small town close to Weisshaupt he had a run in with the Wardens. Something in their demeanor struck a chord with him and he requested to join their ranks. Marcus initially refused him, not liking the company he kept with. But, not one to take no for an answer, Ivan followed Marcus and Napari around the country side for 3 days fighting Darkspawn with them until they agreed to let him take the joining. He later became one of Marcus’ most trusted friends.

His Ax (who I’ve yet to name) is actually fashioned out of darkspawn bones. I mean really, Ivan is the reason the legends of the “Giants of the Anderfels” exists. You can’t tell here but this man is 6’ 8” (That’s 2.07 meters says google lol). So imagine him swinging an ax made out of the bones of his enemies at you? Yeah, that’d pretty much freak me the fuck out too. His tattoo is that cliche mercenary tattoo that everyone gets when they join one (he doesn’t regret it though).

His colours will be pretty straight forward silver/black/brown because he’s mostly leather and metal.

All I have left is Edra… sadly she is going to be the hardest /weeps.

Hmmm. Uses Bones Of His Enemies Hey?
Well To Make It More Threatening And Stuff, You Could Add Pieces From Their Skull Onto His Helmet. Like He Shaved The Bones Down And Made Them Into The Plating That Surrounds His Helmet.
My Only Real Comment For Ivan Is That You Could Play Around With The Idea That He Uses His Enemies' Bones A Bit More :]

Haha, I originally wanted to put him in full out barbarian armor. Like, furs and bones and chain, and what have you. But as I was looking up references, I soon realized that A- it looked very very cold and The Anderfels are a SUPER cold place and B- it did NOT look like the sort of armor that a 2 handed warrior should be wearing. I'm thinking of giving him a remake also to something with a heavy fur/bone over layer.

Like... I'll keep what he's gone on him right now, but I'm thinking a really heavy fur cloak, lined with fox (keep the heads/faces kinda thing) maybe have a belt with some smaller skulls? I'm not sure tbh. I've thought about doing the same thing I did with Kival and just starting over.

A Start Over Might Be Nice, But If You Do Perhaps Keep The Boots. They'll Tone Down Your Next Outfit If You Really Have Fun With The Next One.
Yes The Heavy Cloak Sounds Nice. Yes A Belt With Smaller Skulls, or Maybe The Fingers Of His Enemies? It's Not As Cliche And A Little Bit More Threatening/Creepy.

So I spend the evening and the better part of the morning redrawing his design and I came to the conclusion that I'm better off just scrapping the idea of the ax instead. Ivan -while he did join a mercenary band- joined the Wardens for redemption. He wanted to be part of something noble again, like the Knighthood he once belonged to. While he's not totally untarnished like before and has foul-ish language and is very cynical and sarcastic I decided that maybe 'bones of his enemies' was a bit far out of his characters realm.

I'm still adding furs though. The big fur cloak with the fox lining, some fur on the boots and maybe a pelt around the waist? (sorry for all that )

Haha It's Fine, You're Explaining Your Character More :]
Yeah That Sounds Nice, It's A Less Threatening Which I Believe You're Going For Now. So It'll Work Out Nicely :]

Yeah, I wanted Ivan to be threatening but more in presence and stature rather than what his armor/weapons were made of. He's kind of that asshole with a heart of bronze (not quite gold lol).
Thanks again! It's really helps to be able to talk it out.

Now That Makes A Bit More Sense As To Why He's So Tall. I Mean A Shorter Man Can Be Threatening, He Just Needs The Right Outfit And Attitude. So Doing The Pelts Should Be Better :]
No Problem, Really ^-^
