Description
It’s been snowing her all day, so to take my mind off it, I’ve given Kival a bit of a redesign. He’ll still wear his normal green robes when at the fortress, but this is more of a ‘battle mage appropriate’ set of robes. (this file is huge, open in a new tab to see it in better detail)Gorestorm and snare, what wonderful names lol. Snare is the only possession he has left of his life in Tevinter from Magister Lakarius (Every blood mage needs a dagger right?). He was given Gorestorm after it was found on one of his first trips into the deep roads when Marcus decided he could make use of such a foul weapon.
Any suggestions on colours? I could go the route of blue/gold/grey like the Wardens armor, but I’m not sure yet. I thought red/silver/black would be TOO evil but… idk. His normal robes are green/black/grey so eh.

You Could Make His Armor A Dark Brown, Or A Maroon [link] It's Not Overly Evil Looking, And They'd Both Work With The Green And Grey. Or Even Go Dark Brown, Maroon And Have A Gold Lining.
The Other Thing Is, Battlemages Armor Tends To Be More Protected In The Upper Chest Area. Often, The Cloth Goes On Top Of Chestplates. Kind Of Like This: [link] And Some Chestplate Ideas: [link] (Of Course You Don't Have To Use These, It's Just Ideas To Help Give It More Of A Dark, But Not Overly Dark Feel To Kival).
I Love The Shoulder Protection You Did Though, Looks Wonderful. And That's All I Got For Kival :]

I had originally taken inspiration for the skirt armor from the DA Templar skirts, but I didn't want it to be TOO heavily armored because in the DA verse most of the battlemages have the armored spells so they wouldn't need a crap ton of physical protection. But I did figure that under that cloth upper body was a leather jerkin type of protection (with that cloth mage robe over it) so it has a bit more padding than just a simple robe (but not much.)
I liked the idea's from the second set of images you gave me. Should I add a heavier leather plating to his upper body instead of the heavy quilted fabric? Or maybe a leather plating to the lower half of his torso about half way up just over what I've drawn?

Ah I See.
Hmmm. That's A Hard Choice, I'd Say The Second One But Play Around With The First One Too And See Which One You Find Physically More Appealing To The Eye.

I've kind of started over from the ground up with his design (hah oops). I was doodling for a separate project for him (of his robes for when he was a teen in Tevinter) and a new idea kinda hit me... so maybe the new set will be better. If not, I'll just edit these ones. I'm always really bad like that lol.
