SPECIAL EVENT - Doe's Classes (2023)Journal Tags: Special Event, Effort-Based, Collabs Allowed, Raiders Allowed, Punch Cards, ,,Doe: Hello again, everyone!,Doe: For those of you who are still in school, I hope you're enjoying winter break, melody.,Doe: Now, apologies for the lateness! I'd meant to set this up sooner, but turns out being a principal is much different than being a teacher, melody...,Doe: But I digress! We had such a lovely turnout last year, I got the go ahead to host another winter class this time around! If you're new to this, feel free to come ask me questions--I'll be happy to show you around! It's never too late to learn, so I hope you'll enjoy yourselves, melody!, What is the Doe's Classes Event? If you're familiar with our Past Prompts Log, this event is similar to that journal... but just a bit different! For one thing, Doe's Classes is a special event that allows members to participate in old activity and event prompts- WITHOUT needing a Super Slow Motion Potion. This potion is required in the Past Prompts Log, but is not needed for the duration of this special event. In this event, you can earn prizes and even punch card punches for these old prompts. That means you can use this time to catch up on old story points you might have skipped and still reap some nice rewards. Any prompts for punch card activities that you complete during this event can be combined with your villager's existing punch card. This event lasts from December 5th to January 20th. Once this special event is closed, you will either need a Super Slow Motion Potion to submit entries and receive prizes for old prompts, or wait for Doe's Classes next year.Event PrizesTurn in your event submissions by replying to the featured comment below. A mod will soon reply to give you the prize relevant to your submission. The prizes you receive from the event are the same ones you can receive by completing the prompt in the Past Prompts Log. Visit that journal to learn more about the prizes associated with each prompt.Punch CardsSome of our activities are known as punch card activities. Punch cards are attached to each villager, not to each member. If you complete a punch card for an activity, you can exchange it for a special prize. These activities are: Fashion Show - Exchange 10 punches for Medium Fashion Pack Survey Project - Exchange 5 punches for Silver Fishing Rod Dance Class - Exchange 5 punches for Silver Bug Net Style Challenge - Exchange 10 punches for Silver Watering Can Sketchy Hideout - Exchange 10 punches for Sparkling Hairbrush If you complete a punch card, please turn it into THIS thread. Please wait for mod confirmation on your prompts before you turn in your punch card. The completed punch card thread will close after the event ends (Most likely after January 31st, providing some time for mods to approve all the prompts and giving members some time to turn in their entries). Once it closes, you can turn things in to the Help Hub.How to ParticipateTo start, choose an activity you want to participate in (using the Prompt List below). You might be interested in an activity that offers a specific prize or one can help you with your punch card goals. You must choose a prompt from the Prompt ListIn other words, if you submit something that is not on the prompt list, you will not be able to receive prizes for completing them. For example, the Campground and Playground PWPs are not currently open for submissions, but other PWPs are allowed. All entries you complete must be NEWThis means all entries must be timestamped and submitted to the group no earlier than December 1st, 2023. Don't forget to submit your entries to the correct group folder!Follow any specific requirements for the activity you choose For example, Taylor's Fashion Show only accepts drawn entries and literature is not accepted. Some special events from the past may require backgrounds, so read the instructions carefully. Familiars are not able to complete prompts on their own; they do not have their own punch cards and cannot earn prizes without their bonded villager Lilypad Residents-- meaning non-raiders or any raiders who hold a Lilypad Residency Card --can participate in all activities except for Petunia's Style Challenge and any Survey Project task that has a pine tree symbol next to it. Your villager must have Nightshade residency to submit to those prompts.Nightshade Residents-- meaning raiders or any non-raiders who hold a Nightshade Visitor's Pass --are allowed to participate in all activities except for the Library PWP and any Survey Project task that has a sun symbol next to it. Your villager must have Lilypad residency to submit to those prompts. The Turf War only allows villagers who were registered for that war to submit late entries to it; this restriction is listed in the Past Prompts Log and carries over to this event. If a prompt requires a background, your entry will require one background per villager unless otherwise stated. Example: Several events in the Past Prompts Log request backgrounds, but Survey Project has its own rules for allowing multiple villagers on a single background. It would take up lots of space in this journal to explain all activity requirements, so if you have a specific question, please ask it in the questions thread and a mod will answer when they can. Turn in your submissions by replying to the featured comment belowA mod will soon reply to confirm your entry is valid or ask you to make changes before it can be accepted. You are allowed to turn in multiple villagers on a single deviation, but each villager must be able to meet the prompt requirements. All punch cards you turn in must include unique prompts For example, you cannot turn in a punch card that is filled with 10 entries to the Think Pink Fashion Show. A punch card with duplicate prompts is not complete. You will need 10 different prompts in your punch card, such as Think Pink, Swimsuits, True Colors, Snow Gear, and so on (Survey Project and Dance Class only require 5). Each villager may submit 5 past prompts per activity (both surveys count as "Survey Project" and the 5 count is combined) In other words, a villager (Peppercorn) can submit 5 entries to the Fashion Show, 5 to the Survey Project, 5 to the Dance Class, 5 to past PWPs, 5 to past events, and similar. Another villager owned by the same member can also submit entries to several activities. This rule is put in place to allow all members to complete at least one of the (small) punch cards and earn the relevant ribbon if they would like to, even if they have to start out with 0 entries for that activity. If you would like to continue submitting to a single activity, you may need another villager. It is possible for two (or more) of your villagers to both qualify as completing the prompt as long as they all feature in your submission and all meet the requirements. Please use the questions thread below if you have questions related to an activity's submission requirements. If your entry does not meet requirements for all villagers, it might be approved for fewer villagers than you expected, so it's a good idea to ask in advance if you're unfamiliar with the requirements.Collabs are allowed during this event as long as both villagers qualify for the goals. Please note collabs are not usually permitted in the Past Prompts Log, but are allowed for special event purposes. Example: If you roleplay for Valentino's Dance Class, you will need 1000 words to qualify for two villagers- not just 500.Also, if you do entries for Taylor's Fashion Show, all villagers need their own outfit to qualify for the show, as depicting a seamstress creating the outfit but not wearing one will not count (but it will count if the seamstress meets the show requirements).Prompt ListMany of the links below will take you to the Google Sheet we use for tracking past prompts. Fashion ShowAll entries must be fullbody, colored, and depict villager in relevant outfitSurvey Project (Old System)All entries must be 500 words about your villager reacting to the promptSurvey Project (New System)Drawn - Must be a colored halfbody with a simple background (and be accompanied with a 150-word description; please see journal for more details)Written - Must be 500 words per villager☀️ prompts can only be completed by Lilypad residents, 🌲 by Nightshade residentsDance Class Drawn - Must be fullbody and coloredWritten - Must be 500 words per villagerStyle Challenge Only raiders and those with Nightshade Visitor Passes may participateSketchy Hideout No specific minimum requirementsPublic Work Projects Drawn - Must be fullbody and coloredWritten - Must be 500 words per villagerYou will receive 5,000 bonus Bells, a PWP token for use at the Prize Wheel, and the corresponding ribbonPast Familiar Shows Sketches and partial bodies are allowed. Each entry you submit will receive 1 Familiar Treat and the corresponding show ribbon.Turf WarOnly for villagers who were previously registered for turf wars can participatePast Official Events Requirements and prizes vary between events. Please click the link above to be taken to the Events section of the Past Prompts journalIMPORTANT NOTICE!! Rewards work differently this time around for Past Official Prompts! There is a NEW list of prizes to be earned from Doe's Classes--see them HERE!Tracking Your EntriesIf you participate in Doe's Classes, you are allowed to add the mod replies you receive in this journal with your villager's existing punch card. Members are responsible for tracking their own entries (from this event and/or from previous activity submissions). Once you complete a punch card (and have received confirmation from a mod on each entry), you can exchange your completed punch card for a prize. If you do not complete a punch card during this event, you can keep all the participation prizes such as bells, coupons, and ribbons that you may have earned. You can also save your punch card replies for later and turn them in when your punch card is complete. Ready to turn in a punch card? You will need to make a separate comment in THIS thread to show it to mods. Different members will have different amounts of punches on existing cards, so it wouldn't make sense to give the big completion prizes in the main thread for turning in prompts. Not all activities have punch cards, so there are some you won't need to track. For example, if you complete 5 separate past events, you won't receive a special prize for turning in those links because "Events" is not a punch card activity.Post all entries as a reply to this featured comment! This special event will close January 20th, 11:59 pm HST
