Sew the hole and leave a long tail to make the pumpkin sides.
How to make the sides/folds here:
Stem:
Leaving a long tail, chain 4 stitches. In the second chain from your hook, make a slip stitch. Continue making slit stitches to finish. (You will have 3 slip stitches.) Cut the yarn and pull it through the loop. Once you finish the pumpkin, take both tails of the yarn and use a needle to pull them through the center. You can use a bit of hot glue to keep it from coming off if you want to hold/hang them by the stems. Cut the extra yarn at the bottom of the pumpkin, and you are done!

THEY'RE SO EENSY AND ADORABLE! I might have to make 79 of them for my dining room table, you know, so there isn't even enough room left for a single plate of food

They are so easy to make, they take less than 30 minutes to make. It would be awesome to have a table full of them xD I'm going to make a ton whenever I have a few minutes free. They will still be great for thankgiving too. xD its like little pumpkin Easter eggs!
