when I read the 5th book I always wondered what memories Snape didn't want Harry to see on the off chance he succeeded....and by the 7th book I realized that he didn't want him to see how he'd cared for his mother even when she was gone....was even sadder that he decided that rather than try to be a somewhat father figure to harry he decided to punish himself and have harry hate him until the end.....thankfully he let him see the truth and Harry was man enough to forgive him....hell named one of his kids after him
