I got rejected pretty recently and it was difficult for me to handle, but I got over it and now I think I might have gotten a crush on someone else, but I'm afraid that I might ruin our friendship if I confess my feelings... Γ^ΓΒ

Honestly, I'm afraid by the two. Love makes me afraid of hurt and pain, and not being love back it's certainly the baddest situation in relationship... Β I don't know, maybe the two characters are really in love together but the fire will have to change if she want to keep the candle's love without any pain ...Β

I can't help but see it as abusive relationship. it's not poetic, just like it's not poetic to destroy other person in relationship by beating them up or constantly attacking them verbally. that kind of treatment shouldn't make you appreciate the moments when they don't do it nor love them more.
I understand that this kind of story may not be the goal of creator, but still. if something hurts you, you should look for solutions, but if there are none, leave.

Yeah that's what I see so far. This is probably not what the artist intended, but all I can see is a pair. They love each other, but the woman is physicaly hurting the guy. Slowly killing him. Melting somebody is never a good thing. If you melt my heart without melting together with it, you just abuse me. If you melt my body, you kill me. If we melt together it usualy means becoming one. But here the girl is feeding on the guy. Not the good kind of relationship.

yeah... I just see a pair I knew... one part was hurting the other and was fully aware of that, but "couldn't control" themselves. it hurt them too but it didn't change a thing. they were that kind of person tho - nice to everyone and hurting the closest person to them. like it's a rule, I watched it for some time... and yeah they were using the other part to make themselves feel better.
I suppose the story of Icarus is about overcoming obstacles and maybe just usual quarreling every pair do, or maybe there is no hidden story... or "dying for love" one, but in that case she's still the cause of the death...Β
