Description
VillnΓΆss/Funes Valley, Dolomites, Alps, Italy"Geislerspitzen/Le Odle"
First sunrays illuminate the highest peaks. It was great how the sunrays only hit certain parts of these mountains. The sky was clear and the air was fresh...

My favorite feature of this photo are two aspects: the rectangle of light spread across the mountains in the background and the house nestled among those trees.

Thanks a lot. Always when having clear sky the light is like that - it's due to the hills and mountains that don't let pass the light in some parts.
The house is a little cheese dairy.

You're welcome. That's interesting because usually, the mountains I have seen are entirely bathed in sunlight, and it would be really new to me if any small place of that kind existed in the U.S. (unless I'm unaware of them).

Yeah I know a couple of mountains that are illuminated this way in that area. That's probably because the mountains that are about 50 kilometres away are all higher mountains. But I'm pretty sure that those places do exist in the U.S. too. The Rockies are not that different from the Alps.

I'm sure they are here, too, but I don't travel much (at all actually), so I wouldn't know...Also, it's nice to see green fields in person and in photos, because the hills and fields near where I live usually become brown during the summer.

opulent vegetation is really great. although in these parts of the alps it tends to get really hot plants are always green and fresh. only autumn turns the landscape into wonderful colours!

That sounds wonderful. I have always wanted to live somewhere that changes colors from season to season. I know fog isn't really part of a season, but I never get tired of it.

Well sometimes. But not that often. I live in a big city thus I don't know how it is in the rural areas around berlin!

I see. I live in a big city as well, except I guess because we're a peninsula, we get the fog often.

Yeah. Berlin is in the middle of a huge plain area..there are no hills and no sea...

Perfect shot! The mountains are amazing and awe-inspiring, but the valley below looks welcoming... I love the detail of the fence and the colours are vibrant and fresh. The house in the corner completes the image nicely - as if it calls us to come into the scene.

You're welcome! Thanks for the information, it's really interesting.
During a trek across a mountain in Slovenia, I came across an abandoned milk dairy. It's nice to find out there is still hope for small producers!
