Description This old woman process Tenun gedog. The word of gedog in gedog weaving comes from the "dogging" noise during the weaving process, which is caused by the thumping of the liro (a part of the weaving machine).

i take this pic from low angle. the place is have a low light. so i use a slow speed to catch to movement of his hand. and i dont use tripod just my hand. this dark area on this picture is natural just convert to black and white and a little bit sharpen (canon its too soft) for more dramatic and not been give retouch in photoshop (burn tool or brush)

Holy wow :) Absolutely gorgeous shot. Not just the motion blur, which breathes life into the photo and definitely resonates "captured moment" (which is what this artform is all about, to me), but the cultural flavour runs so deep, and yet in such a simple form, of a woman, doing what she does everyday... it's mesmerising :)

Incredible stuff

This is fantastic, really...I love the way you've incorporated her broad, methodical movements into the shot.

Your canon might have a mirror lock-up option you can use to help get sharper shots in these kind of situations. With that feature on, you press the shutter release once you've composed, and then again to take the picture without having to worry about any vibration caused by the mirror flipping up.

Does your lens only open to 4.0?

PictureOfIndonesia In reply to Slimmons [2007-02-21 05:42:10 +0000 UTC]

i dont remember apeture accurate its, but i know i use the most large apeture (lens 18mm/maybe 3,5-4), with iso high (400-800), and slow speed (1/15-30) to make enough light because i dont use flash (i like more natural) and in this place very low light. i focus on his face and body.

thanks for the help to use mirror lock up

please dont see the information of my picture its all same in deviantart, i think its error
