i like this a lot. it's very jackson pollock meets ralph steadman - two of my favorite artists. i'd like to see more like this. i would also like to not see this "digitally remixed"...i feel like it would lose it's intimacy. just my input.

thanks
i think that's a valid point... but we'll see... i will be quite different - at least what i'm doing here is quite different till now... i'm mostly working with a scanned part of it... and a little "thumb" of the whole pic... but it's not comparable... i really wanted to use it to give a touch - but the "digitally remasterd" on will be a different picture... let's see... we can discuss this if i'm ready... if you agree...

ooh...so what's the whole piece? the thing that i don't like about "digitally remastered" is simply that it looses the organic intimacy. pure art wasn't meant to be touched up...even by age. look at the great sphinx whose nose was lost - it's beautiful in knowing that it's still pure. look at any roman stone scuplture - the lost limbs add even more cutiousity as to who this person really was, but you can still sense what the person was like. i'm not saying you can't do it. but, with something like this, obvious pen strokes and natural "blots", "splashes", and "dribbles" give it that pure organic sense - one which shouldnt be touched up. it might look better, but then what is it for? visual appeal? or the natural artistic approach?

no... i meant i'm using a part of it for the "digitally remaster".... okay - perhaps i should think about another title... i guess the "remastered" is definitely wrong here...
hmmm... the question is - what do you define as "art?" - but well this would lead quite far... is "pure art" as you call it never "touched up"? what do you guess did this "fixed motion" develop...? a pic done in several minutes - in one row... just scribbling like hell untill there's this point reached "finish NOW" ? or do you think it's a piece where i was working on several days... looking at - checking what to do next... some scribbles here - some there... using feather, brush, marker, edding .... (whatever is black?)
nono - i don't want to "change" the piece into a digital work... i wanna use it as a source of inspiration - as a seed for some digital work... which i like also... do stuff that "appeal visually"... i like both - using natrual media and digital media... but mostly i stay with one type in a pic... just because it's not possible to get the "full experience" if you stand before an acryllic painting with all the structure, etc. and be able to touch it... digital art is more for "pleasing the eye" - it's 2dimensional... pure in it's own way...

Its a music site, for my band to be more precise. Going to be incorporating a lot of different art pieces, including my own and the rest of the bands. Needed a decent background. Of course, its entirely up to you.

Ahh its wonderful. I was browsing DeviantArd for a perfect candidate for something I'd like to use on a website, and this is it. I'd love for you to give me permission to use it, all credits will be given to you on the artwork
