The year is 2021. Jump back about 7 years and you'll see a young Pie having her eyes widen by being gifted a snowfumi slot on Christmas Day. So here we are, this pie has used the MYO slot-- nevermind about 6 holiday seasons this boy missed seeing, but here's Teddy!

I think this just goes to show how long adoptables have been a thing and how you can still appreciate all the work and dedication someone put into developing an entire world, lore, and guidelines around a fictional species you might've never seen in your entire lifetime hadn't said person done such a thing. Fumis are a perfect example of this, and even at this day and age, I think they are a beautiful example of a species you can get into at anytime.

With a site that I'd say is very much finished, every time I look back at it, it's easy to find information much like you would find info in libraries of books about real life animals. I don't know if fumis had any recent developments, but even then, there's enough to them that they don't feel unfinished in anyway, and are inspiring and flexible enough to inspire anyone to write a story that fits right into the world of Fumis... while making a "mini-world" of a sorts within it without many limitations.

A lot of people can say this and that about closed species, or fictional species in general, but it comes down to the fact that without that person behind the screen that developed that particular idea with that particular name and that particular world all combined into one thing they never gave up working on for the course of years... a group of people at a particular time would have never been able to enjoy this specific work. I say all this to say... I am very thankful, not just for what I got out of Fumis, but for the people (whether they're still around dA or adoptables) that might've gotten through tough times because of Fumis existing period. End of story.

If you read all that, here's some news... there's a lot more to read below because I got a bit carried away with writing about Teddy and his story within the mini-world I have here! :3 He's supposed to be a bit of a replacement for Sweetie as my fumi mascot as I sold Sweetie a long time ago. I look so very much forward to further happenings with this particular character, especially since he showed up just in time for July! 💖💖💖 (ALSO HOORAY this is my first current time art I've posted to dA! Oh and his masterlist entry will be up later)

Out in the open clear night of the Stove Ranges, you're sweating a storm trying to wander through the woods on your hike quest. Passing some rough shrubby, you stumble upon another frame of time-- why it must be as there's some Christmas lights flashing all about the trees! Lost in some Holiday Special, you find that you're in Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer as the silhouette of a reindeer looms over you.

Wait, at a second glance... it's a fumi. Hold on, is that a snowfumi?! Out here in this heat just roaming freely?!?! Considering how rare and high in demand these babies are, the average fumi fan (with a side of thievery) might attempt to take this fumi with them. But what stops most folk is the obvious name tag saying "I'M OWNED", or well, at least the the other side says "DO NOT REMOVE".

If you're a straight up thief, you might be one to try to remove that tag and run off with the goods. Well our good lowdown thief of a friend, looks like you're gonna be another storyteller about the terror going on in these woods.

Asleep next to his caretaker, Teddy let's out a big yawn before standing to his feet eager about another fun day up ahead! His caretaker is the first to know his excitement by being tackled down at full force every Friday. Teddy's caretaker, who we will call Mathis for ease sake, doesn't know how his life ended up where it's at, and that includes being this snowfumi's homeowner.

When the papers you dreaded seeing since your childhood land at your feet in the worst way, you can really let go all control to wherever life takes you, and Mathis was a prime example of someone who would sway any way the wind took him. By being in this state, he was the perfect candidate for some strange snowfumi convincing him to let the fumi be under his care. After what felt like years of heartbreak, Mathis having the sudden weight of caring for a living being after all this time... honestly filled a void for him.

Tidbits

- His vapor smells like fresh baked sugar cookies on weekdays, and on weekends snickerdoodles

- When angry, it smells like gingerbread-- and in abominable form, burnt chocolate chip

- You'd think people would avoid the burnt cookie smell, but some come running because CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES-- welp...

- Hugs are Teddy's day-by-day living, pretty much his motivation to leave the house at any time of day

- Being the size of a brute, it's hard not to notice Teddy's sturdy stature; and he isn't one to let you get away not noticing his strength, watch out!

- Teddy loves a good day of watching Space Fumes marathons with his roommate (show bio here: )

- However the whole house fills with gingerbread if he even hears the music of Shipking; seeing his favorite fumi going "missing" and never found one season made Teddy want to destroy the whole show (show bio here: )

- While trying to keep on the oblivious side about his roommate, Mathis can't help but think back to the times he thought he heard Teddy say stuff when Mathis accidentally stepped on that tail of Teddy's; the last remark he thought he heard was "you nonsense of a CLUELESS HUMAN WATCH THOSE OVERGROWN TAPPY TOES"-- but considering how wild and vivid his dreams can get, Mathis doesn't doubt that was from one
