Oil on canvas, 80x60cm. Been watching some Kevin Hill tutorial youtube video's and I basically learned I had to tone down my colours to get more natural lighting and shading instead of the cartoony brightness I usually end up with. Keep learning y'all!Related content

Great. Kevin's got some good stuff. A sort of modern day Bob Ross. I like your tones a lot. The orange and blue in the snow and rocks look super great!

Thank you! Yeah Kevin's great. I started out with Bob Ross but I feel Kevin has a better knack and more detail for lighting especially, and I find he gives a little more detail on the actual how-to's of more advanced stuff!

Yes. Kevin's earlier work is a lot more like Bob Ross than the stuff he's doing now. His newer stuff focuses a lot more on dramatic lighting and tends to be a lot more atmospheric. I'll have to watch some of his more recent videos, I realized I hadn't tuned in for some time.
