i dont know if its similar to other programs. There is a chance that it is principally the same but looks different.
This is made in a fractal program (rather different then things like photoshop). To get a clue try and look in the fractal gallery here on DA

technically its a plastic with a shared linked xform to waves2 and then loonie. Though it looks a lot like a regular loonie.
