Relatively easy radial blur in a flux.will have more spectacular things in the future but you have to be satisfied with this for now

Simplicity at it's best! I still haven't got a handle on flux any insight you can give me would be appreciated.

only thing to know is that flux takes left half plane and fills the right half plane
most standard flux is made with a blurred bubble on the left half plane (with the curl as in double bubble thing). and then just play around with the flux one. another tactic is doing the same but put a cylinder in the middle (make room by moving post trans of flux a bit to the right and post of the curl to the left).
another variation is with the cylinder but with a mirrored linear so you make a copy of the right half plane to fill the left half plane by mirroring it
