Dimitri comes from a renowned family and he tends to regard himself very highly in terms of position, power and even attractiveness. He was raised in a snobby household, therefore he is a bit of a snob himself. He tends to focus on his own self-image a lot, caring not only about what he wears, but how he styles his hair and how he presents himself. However, he isn’t shy to criticize others on their own fashion senses, even if they didn’t ask him to. Due to this, Dimitri is usually considered by strangers to be a jerk and his mean attitude or commentary certainly doesn’t help his reputation. He absolutely doesn’t mind having others dislike or hate him since it means he’s still getting attention.
However, if you get past the rude remarks and the higher-than-thou attitude, deep down Dimitri is harmless and not full of ill-intentions. He has the capacity for empathy towards others, but usually after you’ve won his respect. As a friend, he’s a lot kinder and attentive, but he’ll still criticize your wardrobe choices. The bonus to being his friend, however, is that he’ll buy you clothes and offer makeovers. He is absolutely the guy who will show up at your door at 3am if you need someone to talk to. And he’ll beat someone up for you. He’ll never win. But he’ll try.

History:
Dimitri grew up in a highly unusual household. His mother was the wealthy owner of a modeling agency. She was a renown model when she was younger, but retired when she became pregnant with her first of many children. Peculiarly though, she never settled or married, claiming she “had no need for a husband.” Throughout the years, she had her various daughters follow in her footsteps within the fashion industry, they themselves becoming models, photographers, designers, and the like. Soon, she had created a mini empire and her own family brand. Dimitri’s mother was obsessed with order and beauty, and she took great joy in the successes of her “perfect” daughters. (She almost agreed to having them star in a reality TV show.)
When Dimitri was born, he was the first male in the household. It was never widely noticed, but he was treated differently by his mother. Whenever she and Dimitri interacted, which admittedly wasn’t often, there was always a slight hint of scorn or disdain in her actions. He was also always excluded from photoshoots or events that centered around the Ivanova Girls. Although he was permitted to do some modeling in his own time, he always felt like he had to compete with his sisters for public fame and their mother’s attention.
As he grew older, Dimitri learned how to stand out and be his own kind of different for his own sake. He developed his wilder taste in fashion and faked a boisterous personality to match, and soon the public became much more enthralled about the Ivanov Son than they ever were with the women. His sisters were generally very proud of his initiative, but his mother, who is a very serious woman, felt unamused at best. By then, Dimitri and her were more open about their distaste for each other and entered into a feud. However, the stress from their constant fighting and sometimes public bashing eventually caused him to develop his first signs of mutation.
In the very beginning, he was scared and incapable of controlling these new abilities. Things would suddenly just begin to float, including himself, then crash down as quickly as they had risen. Small objects would also fly towards his body and then spin in an orbit around him. It took up all his concentration to keep himself grounded, thus he couldn’t focus on modeling, or photoshoots, or how to publicly embarrass his mom in an interview. During this troubling phase, Dimitri even refused to leave his house or his room and his family, caught up in their own lives and careers, never bothered to ask. Isolated, he spent a long time practicing before he felt capable of coming out in public again. His sole reason for leaving the house and his family was to head to Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, where he sought help in further controlling his mutation.
