Defining Features: From being from both smooth-haired and wire-haired heritage, André takes more after his mother with his shorter, silkier coat, though it grows longer in some places and is usually scruffy. He takes on the typical Dachsie short legs and long snout, his face is more defined however due to his father being a proper working Teckel.

André is your typical big puppy dog! However he’s no longer a puppy, and he’s certainly not big! He will always go cross the faction boundaries to go and explore the world of Canidale and to make new friends within the port town.
For a dog with such short legs, he’s rather brave! Let’s face it, if you’re going to go head first into a fight with a badger you’ve got to be pretty brave! He uses this courage when he meets dogs that are Strays or members of the Junkyard Dogs. Many will laugh at his short size and comical looks, but when he bites your ankles, it does hurt! He always tries to enthusiastic in his meetings and greetings and day-to-day attitude around the farm however, and is very hard to upset or anger.
However, André is rather competitive. He will never say no to a good challenge, even if it is something he could never dream of winning, he will refuse to back down.

Like said before, he’s a puppy at heart, and plays like he’s still 8 weeks old to this day. There is nothing he loves more than a bit of rough and tumble with the other dogs, if he can find one who will play with him instead of working, a difficult thing to find in his society! Most find his constant pestering to play and his chatting nonsense rather annoying, and can easily snap at the young dog or tell him to go away. André doesn’t mind though, he’ll just try to find someone else to play with him!

Being quite young still, the mix is rather naïve, and trusting of others. He truly believes every dog has some good in them, and will always try to find that good, however long and hopeless his mission is.

Unfortunately however, André is a very untidy dog. In whatever he does, he will always make a mess. Eating – most of his food will be on the floor instead of his bowl. Digging – you’re going to get dirt in your fur if you stand to close. Even sleeping at night, he’ll drag his blanket’s about in the messiest way possible before he’ll decided he’s comfy and go to sleep!

Pre-Group History:

André was born on the farm in Canidale, though he didn’t stay there for long. His father was a working Teckel on the farm, hunting badgers to protect the livestock from getting disease. His name was Milo. His mother was a pampered house pet named Clare-Belle, a well looked after Miniature Dachshund who never got her paws dirty. His parent’s had quite the relationship, one minute they were the most in love couple in the world, the next they were trying to get at each other’s throats, it was quite the ride! However it wasn’t long before Clara-Belle was pregnant with her first litter. The owner’s were delighted and hoped for smaller, dogs who still had working ability, and also some who could go to pet homes.

André was born into a litter of 4 of all boys. However when advertised as potential working dogs, no one seemed interested and were just looking for pets. So the whole litter was sold to pet homes. André was sold to a sweet little family outside of Canidale, who wanted a small lap dog for their little children. However as André grew, he became destructive and literally impossible to handle. The family didn’t understand how a dog so small could wreck so much havoc. It was the working lines in the little dog that drove him to be so wild. All his family wanted of him was to play nicely and cuddle them all day long, though André just wanted to run, and dig, and howl.

By the time he was a year old, the family decided that neutering him was the only way that he would calm down. So off he went to the vet, and back he came in the cone. Though André felt humiliated after this, his personality didn’t change and he was just as boisterous as before. He enjoyed playing rough with the children to much, he never meant to hurt them he just got a bit carried away sometimes, and jump up and nip their hands a little too hard.

His owners couldn’t cope anymore, and they made the phone call to his originals breeders asking if they would take him back. They agreed to take him back of course and André was soon back where he started. Though this time he was here to stay.

He was given to an 18-year old boy on the farm who had just completed a course in game & wildlife, and shooting. They both are still learning the ins and outs of being badger hunters, and the boy is hoping to compete with André in Earth Dog trials.
