WONDERFUL shot of this cat, expression, colors, angle are all great... i just wish it wasnt such a messy background, if you feel like it you should try taking the background out in photoshop, put it on something simple. up to you though thats my piece of advice.

You want critical comments ey? Well, personally I love it - I'm a sucker for kitties - however, I've always hated seeing little sharp lines in images where the rest is mostly large well defined shapes. It normally gets to me with vector art where people have little fragments that are unnecessary, but those de-fog/security/whatever strips on the back window do the same thing in this case. Don't take it too seriously; I don't really know art, and it's probably just a very personal thing!

but isnt the strip in fact parralel to other lines from interior? i can see some regularrity in that.. but I might be mad

Just an advice if you plan on taking future shots like this one: from this close, you could try to activate the Macro setting in your camera, it should blur the background nicely. That or if you have control over your camera's aperture (aperture priority or A on some cameras) try using a smaller aperture (I always get these mixed up, I think it's actually a big aperture but the number should be low - between f/2 and f/8). It blurs the background in a pleasant way while keeping the kitty in the foreground. You'll have to keep her quite still though...

thank you for advice. :-* this shot is taken as Macro shot, but she is so tiny, and all of photos look like this one. I'll try with some other background next time, tho
