Description
I did this totally under the visual 'fluence of that high-watermark of JS fanart that is: [link] by the exquisitely talented *phuriedae (who is ever encouraging of this sort of fangirl caper)Commissioned by Nikita, who asked for vaguely GND-ish fluff and got overtones of adult-type touching as an unexpected extra. (ZOMG NO GLOVES!!!1!)
Yeah. I think either one's concentration is gonna give out soon.
(and yes, I DO really like sticking Sarah in His Majesty's fluffy shirts. What of it?)
--
EDIT FOR CLARITY PLZ This is meant to be set in the lovely vague world of fanficdom where Sarah is legal and all. Mmkay?
--
Jareth & Sarah belong to the Jim Henson Co.

I basically make about $6,000-$8,000 a month online. Itβs enough to comfortably replace my old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 10-13 hours a week from home. I was amazed how easy it was after I tried itβ¦β¦β¦COPY AND PASTE...............HERE Β www.GeoSalary.com

Isnβt 16 considered βlegalβ in Britian? I thought Sarah was canonically 16... (also I know Jennifer was 14 or so when she portrayed her but I was under the impression Sarah was meant to be a little older.)

I'm pretty sure the RL parts of 'Labyrinth' are meant to be set in the US, though shot in England, so British jurisdiction is kinda moot.
It's a sticky thing. I mean, I have totally known/been a teenage girl with mad crushes on older men. And I ship JS and wanna roll with "eh, fairytale rules". On the other hand, as a grown woman feminist, I find that kind of age difference uber-skeevy and judge the hell out of an adult guy who'd chose to pursue a teenager over a mature, self-actualized woman, regardless of exact legality. On the other other hand, for JS the power imbalance is explicitly skewered in the finale, and also, magic, so Less Bad. But I definitely prefer to give Sarah a few years post-movie to come into her own before they rematch.

Fair enough. Thatβs a good point.
I guess my personal struggle with it has always been that the lines between such have blurred for me when it comes to non-humans.
Though βonceβ humans. Mr. Iβve been 17 or so for centuries(?) so I can date high school girls Edward Cullen.... For whatever reason *that* creeps me out... ha.
But on a standpoint between 14 year old Jennifer and 40(?) year old David, Iβd vote a hard nope to that. As a matter of fact, I heard rumor that David himself βnopedβ the heck out of the script when there was a kissing scene between the two. But rumor also says that it was the directors who βnopedβ it so who is to say?
Either way, I guess Iβm a little weird when it comes to my ships.
That being said, the older I get, the older I want Sarah being in that ship. Because maturity and all that, but because of relatability as well, I suppose. (Iβm 25... I was only 20 yesterday, now Iβm approaching that age where Iβm too old for stuff OwOβββ I refuse! Iβll be on my deathbed at 150 still shipping JS! Lol!)

Yeah I've also heard the story of 39-yr-old Bowie nixing the ballroom kiss with 15yr old JConnelly, and fangirl wishful thinking of a filmed scene ending on the cutting-room floor.....
Hell, you know there's a tipping point when you get to a scene like The Little Mermaid, proclaiming she's 16! she's not a child anymore! and instead of #relatable you feel more like OMG yes you are so totally still a kid you don't know anything yet - yeahhh.....

Here's a fun fact: Did you know that Bowie was never the one juggling the orbs? They had a circus performer who worked with the orbs stand behind Jareth with his arm coming around in front!Β

What he does is called "contact juggling". Upon seeing the movie, I'd poured myself into learning how. It's really freaking cool to mirror Jareth while rolling a Fushigi ball over your hands!!

I felt bad for the guy who actually did the juggling though because he had to stand behind Bowie and not see what he was doing while the shot was taken.

It's hard to contact juggle by itself (though I managed to learn ^_^), so I can definitely empathize with him. Going completely blind... poor Michael Moschen.
