Finally got this big bot down to how he looks like. Took me a sweet while too. This much I has not struggled before with a darn character design! I think that's also partly because of the reference of the train he actually has as an alt-mode: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VR_Class… It's difficult to add curvy shapes all TFP/IDW style to a complete box!

Gandy Dancer is actually the boss of my train characters, but due to certain arrangements, Visual Range, Meridian Transit, Regauge Caliber and Hoistway thinks Astrotrain is their boss. When Gandy got assigned to the team, he knew immediately that it was more pain in the aft than it was worth the trouble, so he actually asked Astrotrain to be the boss, only as the face of a boss, while he'd do the 'paperwork' and all that stuff behind the scenes, and give the missions and stuff they were supposed to do. Astrotrain would be the one giving these orders and do the lovely yelling part when things went haywire. This was a pleasing surprise to Astrotrain because he could gain better reputation among the Decepticons and work with more trainbots, and accepted the offer right away. There's other reasons behind the whole thing too, but I'll leave that out for now.

This way Gandy could keep an eye on the new disaster quartet and possibly prevent scrap from hitting the fan (too much) while teaching some oldschool tricks to them. And what's more important; TO WORK AS A TEAM.

Eventually, the big bot couldn't take it anymore and blew a fuse or two, and simply decided to go on a vacation. Somewhere secluded, rather another freaking planet if someone asked him, and that's how he found himself spacebridged to Earth. He actually spent more than 200 years on that dirt planet just quietly observing humans in a train form or two. He's also part of the mysteries where a train just disappeared from the tracks over night. During his travels he's seen most of the globe, from USA, to Europe, and last country visited; Finland, before returning to Cybertron.

When he got back to Cybertron, the war was over, again. This wasn't the first fight he has fought in Cybetron's history. That left Gandy with his Decepticon state of mind into the middle of a planet where Autobots and Cons were actually at peace, yet it felt weird and wrong, like previous times, and the old bot still has difficult time to adjust to such a change. Even after being told several times to drop all the hostilities, it's deeply rooted to his habits to attack Autobots on sight. Because of this Gandy decided to stay underground and only visit the surface when absolutely necessary. Like picking Train from running away to drink and have fun in Neutralzone. That place is a curse to him as there's a mix of aliens, Bots and Cons and he has to muster all willpower he has to keep himself in check.
