Knock Out is calling! He is eager to smack you down!
When one paper isn't enough, use two! I think my eyes went haywire a couple of times when I tried to fix the perspective for this, gruuuuu T^T; Stupid paper edge didn't want to cooperate with me or with my camera. And my hand hurt a lot from the position. All we do for art, huh?
Mmmhm. I need to figure out something for the paper edges >:I

Actually, Soundwave does actually have a face, revealed in the "Titan Magazines Prime comics" --> [link] The issue is called "War Story" --> [link] and in that issue, Soundwave talks and appears at several points to have a face behind his mask as seen in the scene I linked you to. Also, towards the end of the TFPrime episode Triage, Megatron directly orders Knockout to "repair Soundwave's visor" which expressly reveals that what we see is indeed a mask or "visor" and that he does in fact have a face beneath it.
My theory as to why he wears it was that as a gladiator in Kaon (where he met Megatron in the Aligned continuity - WfC, FoC, Exodus, Exiles, and TFPrime), early on he might have had his face torn and scared during one fight, thus the horrific scars he has over the left side of his face (4 deep jagged claw marks running from forehead to jaw, just missing his left eye) in the "Forbidden Longing" story I started with my bro Catalyst. Of course, everyone has their own ideas about that. **smiles**

This is the classic one even in wiki: [link] Now look at the mask line going around the top edge, it is continuous, so for whatever reason the colorist colored it red, I have no clue. Secondly, why would his mouth go all around the mask edges?
Here's second: [link] As you can see, now the red dot is in the middle, and other spike of the front helm is colored red too, similar to Starscream's head decoration.
Here it is actually colored like it should be: [link] and the mouth lines are the reflection buzzing what ever you can call it on the screen.

Why he is wearing the visor? I don't know. Why he talks in the comics? It's more effort to make him not talk and characters just reply to him than directly just make him speak :3 Maybe there's more hidden meaning like he actually talks to Megs, but that would make no sense because there's other Cons around there too. To me the whole comic was very OOC compared to Prime TV show, especially Soundwave

I don't have the Titan comics so I can't say one way or the other. I figure he was once quite good looking until he had his face ripped apart in the gladiator pits well before he met Megatron (personal canon based on actual history for Soundwave, thus the "Forbidden Longing" story). It still means that's a mask and that his face is under it. The red light can be his optics shining through the screen (I would surmise it's transparent like sunglasses are for us), and the squiggly lines could be a sine wave that appeared when he spoke (only to Megatron, I presume) just like it does in the series, which would indicate that the mask is linked to his systems and thus part of him, but not his actual face the same way Optimus and Wheeljack both have a retractable battle mask.
However, there is still the in canon moment towards the end of the TFPrime episode Triage, Megatron directly orders Knockout to "repair Soundwave's visor" which expressly reveals that what we see is indeed a mask or "visor" and that he does in fact have a face beneath it. Again, it's established in canon in the series itself. [link]

Knock Out - "Yes. We are fortunate to have him on our side, Lord Megatron."

Because it is canon in the series that he has a face and that he's wearing a visor/mask over it. Note I said "he has a face" not that he specifically has the exact face I personally imagine. O.o I don't see how you or anyone else can say he doesn't have a face at all, which constitutes eyes and a mouth at the very least based on what we see on all the other named characters (and no I don't count Vehicon drones in this because they're drones not individual named characters), when they've made it clear in the series that he does. >.<

Watch the show? Words doesn't count for pictures. What Megatron says gave only a name for his facial screen. There's nothing underneath until proven otherwise, like actual face like rest of them has. Until that you can imagine whatever is under there.

Visor does not equal face in any way shape or form. Visor is something worn over the face. What part of that do you not get? O.o

You don't get it, do you? He MIGHT have a face underneath. See the "might"? Until we actually SEE his face (read: pictures or it didn't happen), he can have whatever you can possibly imagine underneath it. That's what this all is about. He can simply have a one gigantic optic like Shockwave instead of "normal" face. Or he can have just circuitry which the visor is covering. Until we see it in the show, you can keep imagining what you want under it. There isn't much more to discuss about this.

If it was his face Megatron would have said face, not visor. And Shockwave is unique in his mono-opticness, that's been reiterated repeatedly in pretty much every version of Transformers except a few drones in the movie verse comics. Plus, in ALL of the other versions of him he has shades/visor and a mask, meaning he has eyes and a mouth underneath like every other transformer who has shades and/or a mask. O.o Personally, I think you just want to argue for the sake of arguing. >.< I'm simply pointing out facts you don't want to accept.

For the sake of arguing? I have my opinions about things, you have yours, that's all this is. A fact isn't something you believe might be there. Solid proofs of facts that there's eyes or mouth or something under the masks and visors is is called pictures or literature where it's described and is canon.(I'll point out again artistic mistakes is a sad proof like the Titan comics.)
