Give the enemy no mercy!!!

I think Hakuro got a bit too inspired and is actually breaking the game a bit with her stunt, but I'm pretty sure the lovely lady is enjoying herself giving the opponents their deserved sneak attack.

Incoming artist babbling:

I wanted to portray the character in the actual game environment, doing their thing, and found this adorable holy tree stump. I don't know why I like it so much, though. Was quite fun to figure out the shapes and stuff into the perspective I chose when the ingame is designed to fit an isometric view. Second idea was that Hakuro would have been on a pile of rocks with two small cute lanterns in front of them, but that was too much to get everything down correctly! My poor head couldn't handle it after several tries so back to the original idea it was. That was because I initially sketched the pose and the background came the second, and on that line of thought I might not have seen the pose fit the tree. Yup yup. Worked well in the end anyway!

On that note, Hakuro's character design was something that got me to return to my past as a little artist who was in love with Biker Mice from Mars characters! She looks quite different from the others, at least the first look, not the Evolution version, and on top of that I'm fascinated by archery. I think I spent like a few days on and off just looking at videos of archery because of this. Go go art studies and proper grip and bow holding and what not. Since Hakuro is heavily Japan inspired, I drew her to have Japanese thumb draw. I learned that the archer does not actually hold the arrow at all, it snaps into place and holds its position. The archer hold the string instead!!!

This was also a life lesson of coloring for me; refresh your memory how you have previously worked with coloring pictures BEFORE doing any colors. Thanks to me not listening to the small voices at the back of my head that "you're doing it wrong" I struggled with all the editing so much I feel like facedesking afterwards. I could have avoided so much teeth grinding, laughing maniacally and spinning on my chair going crazy.
