Actaully, my story book has a main character who's a demon, he possesses his host too, but he can't do much outside of fire and earth, while giving muscular strength. Wishes are for deities and djinn.

Actually, Djinn are demons of Islamic mythology, and were made of fire, they were basically both angels and demons though, and were able to meddle with the universe, but not as much as god himself could.
