Connections: Krohnen and Surge were created and experimented upon in order to create the ultimate counter to the main hero of their worlds (Kyo Kusanagi and Sonic the Hedgehog), infused with an intense hatred of them in order to force them into combat. Their memories are completely fabricated by those who "created" them (NESTS and Dr. Starline), but once they were able to gain consciousness and control over their actions, they defected and betrayed their creators, going on the run alongside their partner (Ángel and Kitsunami), with whom they share a genuine friendship, despite their brash attitude. Due to being made as a counter to the original article, they've integrated aspects of the original's fighting style into their own, but putting a spin on it so that it better suits them and distinguishes them from the one they were made to destroy. Their elemental powers (Fire and Electricity) are balanced out and enhanced due to the cybernetics within their bodies (Krohnen's cybernetic arm enhancing his power and Surge's cybernetics enhancing her speed), and although not perfect imitations of that which they copy (Kyo's Kusanagi Flame and Sonic's speed), they're more than able to keep up. Due to their pasts, they have similar personalities to the protagonist but with an added streak of arrogance, and hate being ordered around by authority figures, seeking to follow their own path in life, wherever it may take them.
