Description
This is a quick preview for a new little series I'm making called Bowser TV. It will be a series of one to two page comics where Bowser Corner hosts, Boo and Monty Mole, interview citizens of the Koopa Kingdom, and occasionally people from other kingdoms as well. (And maybe some fan characters but we'll see how that goes.) Feel free to ask any questions such as why I even did this when literally no one wants it.I'm just gonna use this deviation to briefly describe the personalities of the two hosts. Also I know the names are literally just their species but whatever.
First let's do Boo.
Boo is certainly a talkative host, often being the one to respond to, as well as ask the questions. He's also pretty malicious towards not only his co-host, but the guests as well. Boo will usually torment or taunt the male guests by talking about controversial things associated with them, but will often hit on the female guests.
Outside of interviewing, he acts pretty similar in his day to day interactions. Going out of his way to cause trouble and insult people in admittedly witty ways. While his insults are second to none, he's not untouchable. He's particularly sensitive about his lisp, which causes him to spit everywhere. It's quite unsanitary.
He was originally just your standard Boo. Less shy, but no notable physical differences aside from his lisp (if that even counts as physcial). He was generally disliked by the other boos for his assholery. But he relished the hatred. After being exiled from his home town, he decided that a Boo of his talents should be working for Bowser himself on the front lines. So he made his way to Bowser's Castle. Bowser wasn't putting up with any of his big talk and told him to screw off, and that there were no available positions.
While he and Bowser were arguing, Ludwig came in and interrupted them. Before Ludwig could get more than 3 words into his sentence, Boo called him Little Miss Bucktooth and told him to lay off the dish detergent scented perfume. This impressed Bowser (Ludwig not so much), so he decided he could find a position.
Boo was confident that whatever position he was given he would excel at. However even he got a sinking feeling when Bowser and Kamek left the castle followed by fleets of servants carrying suit cases.
As it turns out, his job was to watch the Koopalings and Bowser Junior while Bowser and Kamek went on a conveniently timed vacation. Now normally he would've just ignored them and not given a shit, but unfortunately for him, he wasn't the only minion assigned the task. The other one? Monty mole. I'll go more in depth on his personality during his section, but just know that they don't exactly get along.
Boo always tries to escape from his duties, but Monty Mole is always there to force him to do it. In all honesty, the Koopalings are more than capable of taking care of themselves and don't really need supervision. The tough part is all the trouble they get into with their "wonderful" personalities, and all the fights that break out. His solution to the fights is usually just "Take it to the basement."
After what Boo considers the worst 2 weeks of his life finally passed, Bowser returned, very irate. Apparently Mario had started his own tv network and that's all that he heard about on the vacation. Incredibly jealous, Bowser decides to start his own. Creatively named Bowser Tv, the network features a variety of programs designed to further Bowser's image and the Koopa Kingdom as a whole. I may elaborate on other programs in the future, but no promises.
Boo naturally wants to be involved, citing the fact that since Bowser is back, he needs another job. Bowser concedes, and lets Boo be a host on a daily program called Bowser Corner. Under the condition that Boo be on standby to deliver snacks to Bowser and Junior, which he begrudgingly agrees to.
Boo Trivia:
. Boo has an abusive yoshi "girlfriend" who just showed up in his house one day. He hits on all the female guests to try to convince her to "break up with him". This usually results in her harming him.
. He's addicted to the laugh track, it follows him wherever he goes. No one knows where it comes from.
.Boo loves singing. Everyone hates Boo's singing.
.Boo is actually the result of King Boo's escapades with a prostitute. He is proud of this fact.
.He hates all animals. All animals hate him
.He's got a real sweet tooth
.Monty Mole is basically the only one who even associates with him.
Monty is the quieter host, but he still has a presence on the show. He tends to make jabs at Boo and focus more on him then the guest. He also frequently derails the interview to talk about himself, much to the annoyance of everyone else.
Monty Mole was once a miner in the Monty Mole Mining Operation, and was often respected by his workers. That's not to say that they're never annoyed by him and his constant droning on and on about how much better things were in the old days though. He tended to be better at mining than talking.
When Bowser shut down the mining operation to put a chicken wing restaurant there for his convenience, many of the moles were out of a job. Bowser didn't really care and made most of them work at the chicken restaraunt. Bowser was soon bothered by complaints that a certain Monty Mole out of the group was disrupting the work of the rest. Upon Kamek's investigation, it was our Monty Mole. He was tasting the chicken wings to make sure they tasted right. Either they tasted wrong so he'd just eat them, or they tasted right but they couldn't be served because they had bite marks in them. So he'd just eat them. Kamek suspected this was out of spite stemming from the closed mine. And also being a fat rat with an insatiable hunger for chicken wings.
Bowser was rightfully pissed for once in his life. And stormed over, threatening to execute the filthy rat if he kept it up. Monty replied that he wanted to die anyway so he didn't care. Bowser was fuming at this point. He then threatened Monty with the worst punishment in the koopa kingdom. One bite of chicken was all the convincing Bowser needed to carry out his threat,
As it turns out, the punishment was being tasked with watching his kids while he went on vacation. He didn't trust Monty enough to do it by himself, so he roped another jerk into doing it with him. Monty isn't the ideal supervisor, but he's no Boo. He was much more strict with them but he really wouldn't go beyond verbal discipline, he's too lazy to enforce rules beyond the bare minimum. He makes Boo do all the work
He spends most of his time spinning yarns to no one in particular about the good old days, frequently mentioning his wife Clarissa and his daughter Sally. It is likely that they are a total fabrication as no one has ever met them. No one knows if he's actually psychotic or just a liar.
Upon Bowser's return, he agreed to never eat chicken wings in exchange for a different job. Bowser said that Monty didn't have a say in the matter so he was going to continue to supervise anyway. The koopalings were oddly in favor of Monty Mole getting a different job, so they convinced Bowser to reconsider. Despite Boo's objections, Bowser decided that Monty Mole would be a host on Bowser Corner
Monty Mole Trivia
.Monty Mole may act like he's 70, but he's actually twenty two. Twenty three in Mole years.
.He actually had been fired prior to the demolition of the mine due to questionable behavior
.His favorite food is potatoes. He's never eaten one.
.He's not actually southern
.He's happy that what he does in his pastime is now legal.
