This isnt even tracing this is just a screenshot. It's illegal to post this on here as you didn't make it and if you don't want hasbro tosue you you should remove it

It does, however, show how good you are at tracing. Art is everywhere.

I don't really enjoy when somebody makes a vector out of a specific scene and includes the background... I mean, they're basically just tracing one frame, and it's usually pretty pointless.
However, making a vector of a pony with a transparent background is super useful.
Also, if someone makes a vector of just the background now with a super-high resolution, it's useful as a resource.
I think that's the biggest thing to remember here, it's not about expression, it's about usefulness.
Weather you want to call it art or not is irrelevant, we could argue semantics all day if we wanted to when it comes to that subject.
The fact of the matter is, it has a purpose, and it has it's place.

I think you might have missed the point. Horribly. And you've obviously never vectored anything either.

I seem to have also missed the point, then. Could you explain?

Gladly. Vectoring isn't just grabbing a screenshot and putting it online. It's using a screenshot as a resource to mainly bring into high resolution, which is easier said than done. You take the screenshot into Inkscape or Photoshop and use the pen tool, with shape selector, to create the individual strokes of a specific screenshot reference. There are strokes and fills, and they are all somewhat difficult to set up. Accuracy is key in this art style, and is more so the technical side of fan art, because it uses a series of algorithms (pre-planned types of motion and calculating) to obtain the desired outcome of the vector. A single vector could take from anywhere between 3-7 hours if it is highly accurate, no mistakes were left unedited and it also depends on the artist. So the vector artists do deserve some respect. It takes more than a PrtSc key to make a vector happen. And yes this form of tracing is art, because it is a technique used to recreate existing poses for use in mainly wallpapers, could be used to make icons, prints, comics, and even shirt designs; which is a highly popular form of graphic design. Hope I helped explain what the deal with vectoring was and how it is in fact a form of art, if not a traditional form.

It's not hard, it's stupid and lazy from my point of view.

Aye, I have nothing but respect for the time and effort involved in making these vectors! I don't think I spent that long on even my most serious pieces!
My opinions on uploading them to deviantArt revolve solely around deviantArt's policies, not the artistic merit of said vectors

I do vectoring because it's one of the few things I can do artistically, and I do plan on getting more experienced with it so I can stop tracing vectors and make custom images myself.
