All right, here's something a bit new. Some more Captain N RESET baloney for your sammiches.I don't know about the rest of you, but I've come to accept something. You look around Deviantart or any other art site, or at any artist's work, and you'll find a lot of art that's digitally colored. I hate to say it, because I know I'm going to offend SOMEONE, but it all looks so fake. So manufactured. Only a talented few can really make digital colors look like it was hand-painted, and even then, they're only putting in half the necessery effort. In short, I think CG art is overrated.
So what I'm getting at here is that I finally went and bought some Prismacolors. Fucking expensive. After that, I started coloring some of my pictures with them, experimenting with different color chemistry. And... you know something? Pencil or markers or paint is more rewarding than digital paint programs. After you do a great job coloring them by hand rather than by mouse, you feel like you've leveled up your artistic skill. It's far more rewarding, more authentic, and miles more artistic.
That's not to say that CG coloring or CG artwork is bad or worthless, but I just think that coloring by hand is better. The payoff is better, at least. Plus, with Photoshop, any jerkoff or hack can call himself an "artist." Countless times I've seen pictures that look like they were drawn by little kids but inked and colored in Photoshop to look nicer.
It's just as they say: you put a tuxedo on a donkey, the only thing you get is a fancy ass.
You take away the fancy CG and graphics, etc., and you'll see shit for what it is. Drawing, inking, and coloring by hand are much more rewarding for real artists, like , while computer art (while it's fantastic in the right hands) almost by itself generates untalented hacks like .

Anyway, back to Captain N.
Everyone remembers Jill, Ken, and Sonic. Few really recall Aero, Mark, and Edmund, so I'll explain them instead.
Edmund is the nameless hero in Faxanadu for NES. I decided that it would be great for the N Team to visit the World Tree, but since the hero had no name, I went and named him after one of the four kids from Chronicles of Narnia.
Mark is from Monster Party. If you've seen him in some of my other artwork, you'd probably have already known that. He is also one seriously messed-up kid.
And Aero. We probably remember him, somewhat, as a Sonic clone. I do hope I've shed that shell of his, basing him more on his behavior from his second game. (Just so you know, he's actually kind of a jerk.)
All these guys show up at some point or another, and I hope to use them all in ways that aren't... lackluster, or rushed.

I'm going to be honest, I don't like how Aero came out. he looks a bit too slick and stretched out. The others are pretty decent. mark howevr is outstanding in a stylized weird sort of way, which works perfectly.
So in the end, it all basically evens out.

I goofed up on Aero's posing. :/ I was trying to give each character his own pose instead of having them all look static. I prefer to try and fail as opposed to just not trying.
"Simon, that kid... I don't think we can trust him."
"Oh, what was your first clue? The fact that he doesn't have a neck?!
--Kevin and Simon, whispering to each other behind Mark's back.

"I prefer to try and fail as opposed to just not trying."
That's a VERY admirable way of thinking.

very cool my favorites are Jill, the Faxandu guy and Mark, oh and you are right Mark is messed-up kid but Bert is to blame he took poor inocent Mark to a world of blood gore weird monsters, make him use pills and after all the traumatic quest he make a very sick joke to the already traumatized Mark giving him a box with more horrible creatures and next day apears in front of hes door telling him to do it all over again
and yet Bert is one of my favorite monsters ever

Here it comes, lettered points!
a) I'm not going to get on the digital vs classic thoughts as it all is thrown to the individual artists.
b) but that brings us to B where I completely agree that your prisma coloring here does wonders.
c) the designs are perfect for the characters and while I didn't know who Edmund was, reading his description explained that quickly enough.
So more power to your work, however you continue to produce it. You have more artistic talent than I could ever hope to have. xP

Don't worry, I was only slighty offended by that. XD
Hmm... haven't done any traditional stuff besides pencil sketchs in quite a while... I may need to break out my prisma markers.

Actually I have one CG work, but that was a DA ID. Not a peice submitted for critique.

Art no matter if it is an ID or not...if it's put on an art site it will be critisized....sorry... If it is submitted it is fair game to critics and the like.

LOL i only use traditional art sir.
If you are going to make a stab at me at least get me for something I do.
You can't even paint on the same scale as me.
It's actually rather amusing this mutual distaste we have for each other, it keeps us rather civil somehow.
Anyhoo, it's hard to take you seriously when your calling me a hack and doodling fanart for your fanfic that draws from much of modern storytelling... if not totaly rips off many boring stories. I didn't believe in god until I met you, because only god would create you with a s-st-st-stutter so you can't rant on this much offline, he really does love the world.

You know something, Tim? I was going to "Hide" this comment. But I'm going to leave it up so that everyone can see that you're an asshole who can't take a joke. Insulting someone for his stutter is low, FAG.

Well... there IS a zombie attack. Can't say much more than that, because it's not entirely based on RE. The beauty of Captain N was in the way it reimagined the games it was based on, so that it was different and could still hold your interest, so I'm going to do the same since this is based on Captain N's original idea. However, unlike the original series, I'm going to try to stay away from making everything too foreign for longtime fans to recognize it. (I still don't remember King Melvis and Queen Dwarfina from Faxanadu... BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER THERE.)

So, can I ask one thing?
..... Is there any chance Nemesis is gonna show up?

...
Perhaps. Right now, I'm trying to find a part for a lot of characters. Most of them may only make one short cameo, but a few have entire story arcs that center around how they affect the N-Team.
