Inktober day 4: Knot
The endless knot or eternal knot formed is a symbolic knot and one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols. It is an important symbol in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism.
I painted this symbol with two snakes to symbolise the opposing forces coming together. There are various interpretations of the endless knot in Buddhism such as the he inter-twining of wisdom and compassion, and the interplay and interaction of the opposing forces in the dualistic world of manifestation, leading to their union, and ultimately to harmony in the universe.
