Description
Still experimenting. I originally didn't intend for it to come out this way. I had made a flat image and it seemed like it needed something else so I decided to give "sphering" (if that's a word) a try. While I like the result I'm not totally happy with it. The top right border seems to be cut off too quickly and the highlights aren't the best. I would have also liked it to be brighter. It looks kinda dry but it gives it charactaer in it's own way I guess. Still, like I said, it's another experiment and I'd like to know what you all think...Enjoy...

Very beautiful! I really love it as it is. I agree about the top of the sphere...but this is very good work.Ida

I like the texture and colours of the spiral, I agree with other comments that the top of the sphere does look a bit cut off and the lighting is looking a bit like a veil. Keep experimenting, I'm really liking the direction of this stuff.

Thank you. I really like the spiral but it looked so plain that I thought I needed to add something else so I decided to give the spiral a try. The lighting was hard because I was trying to change the color and in the process I darkened it and then lightened it so I think that's why it's got that haze to it. It was my first attempt and I think it came out good as such...
Thanks again...

The sphere looks as if it's been partially carved out of the rock on which it's sitting and left there for some reason. Great colors and textures and the soft finish looks very good in this. I have to agree with Ersi that removing the grayish 'veil' might bring the colors even more to life. Regardless of that though, this is very well done and I like it a lot.

It was left there cause the person that carved it didn't like the grayish "veil" it had and was too lazy to buff and polish it...
Thank you for that accurate assessment once again and thanks for the as well...

3D illusion is perfect (I don't know what software you used but if it is 2D oriented then it is perfect). There are plenty of shapes on sphere and around, looking at them every time I see different things (eagle, eye, hand etc.)

I think the globe looks like its sitting in a depression which makes it look 3D. Overall I like it!

The off-centrered composition works wonderfully and I like the dark colours. The highlights are enough to show the texture, that's great too. The only thing I'm not sure about is that veiled (grayish) look, that dampens the colours and weekens them. Maybe, just maybe, the overall effect would improve if you removed it.

Thank you. It's possible but I doubt it. It somehow took on that flat color during the process and I really couldn't change it. I would probably be more trouble then it's worth to try to change it but I totally understand what you're saying...

I think it's great. I really like the matte finish it has. The sphere gave it just the right touch by adding some depth.
