Description
Umberhulks are large, monstrous insectoid beasts that live in subterranean environments, mainly in expansive cave systems, but they taken up shop within abandoned dungeons, and even some parts of the Underdark. Despite their chitinous bulk, these giant bugs are quite fast and agile when it comes to maneuvering around their underground habitat, they're also quite adept at burrowing thanks to their thick claws. Besides from using it's brutish strength and digging capabilities to help dispatch of their prey, their smaller pair of eyes has the ability to temporarily scramble the mind of anyone who gazes deep into their tiny little eyes.

Many people think that Umberhulks, despite their fast burrowing and mind scrambling capabilities, are nothing more than animalistic brutes, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Since these huge beasts are actually about as intelligent as the average human, they've even created their own language, despite this however, the Umberhulks show no interest in becoming a civilized race, as they prefer sticking to the shadows and eating people alive. The lowest they'll go into being "civilized" is learning the common tongue, usually speaking in broken Common or Deep Speech.
