Maybe you remember the ooold Alfred Jodokus Kwak art I did once.
Recently, I listened to several songs from this series and talked with friends about it and about Hollands/Netherlands new characterdesign in Hetalia.
So I said, I would draw Netherlands, Japan and Germany as Alfred-like ducks... and I always keep my promises.
The story about Alfred J. Kwak is based on a dutch tale that was mostly presented with songs. The Anime/Cartoon was produced in co work with TV Tokio but produced in Germany (I think)
[now I just read that Spain was a part of the production team as well, I always heard it was just those three so, sorry Spain!]

Alfred Jodokus Kwak was actually not just a show for kids. There were very serious themes such as nacionalism and racism. But it wasn't over-cuted so the horror of situations like that was captured well.
