I actually think it would be better if his gem was near his heart, since those gems are usually more emotional, like Garroth is.
But I get why you put it on his hand.

I didn't want to have same gem placements to SU gems (aside from Aphmau) I also really wanted a shield for him and shields are strapped around the arm. I also wanted it so that it would be fast and easy to pull out. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I have a hard time making my thoughts coherent.
