Tali was now an admiral and that drove her to seek advice from the Commander even more than before. She had grown immensely from the young pilgrim she had been when they first met, but she still needed a shoulder to lean on every now and then, when the burdens placed on hers became too heavy to carry. Shepard would willingly help her in any way she could; Tali had become like a little sister to her.

A soft smile crept on the Commander’s features when she felt a pressure against her body. Neither said a word and she just let the young quarian rest against her, guessing that physical proximity and touching were probably common practices in the quarian culture, a way to express any sort of affection and to offer comfort. And knowing that Tali trusted her enough to ask her opinion about matters concerning the Migrant Fleet warmed her heart.
