I use pencils, because I like to strengthen the lines at the shady
points, so: you can also use normal pencils. It's just that you can't
blur them, but that's not that bad And don't worry, you can also achieve a good result with children pencils
After the salt is dried, you can rub it away. Often, there are still some remnants on the paper which twinkle beautifully, though. I like to leave it like that because I like this twinkling effect, but you can also try to scrape it away. But when you do that, it's possible that you damage the paper or the color on the paper.
I wish you a lot of fun trying it out!

This is the best tutorial on WATERCoLOUR ever! great job!
I think the salt idea is awesome and I can't wait to use it, though it's too bad I don't have watercolour colour pencils..........

Thank you so much
Well, you don't have to use water color pencils. I like them because their color is intensive (more intensive than my water colors) and I can strengthen the lines with them. But you can receive a similar result with colored pencils or just painting more layers with water colors
Have fun experimenting with the salt technique There is also a technique where you can drop of alcohol in the water color, but I didn't try it, yet, so I don't know very much about it. Maybe you can find something about it in the internet

Yays!I borrowed a set of watercolour pencils because of this tutorial, so now I have a set! I'll try my line art now, though I don't really get the part where you said to put the piece of line art into the water and then paste it to a board, is that nessesary?

Well, you don't have to do it. But when painting with water colors, you use lots of water, and the paper gets wavy. So, there are some points, where the color and water gathers, even if you don't want it there. When you paste the wet paper with the lineart on the board and let it dry, the paper is too tense to get wavy
Whether the paper gets more or less wavy also depends on the paper strength (the stronger, the less the paper gets wavy) or the way you color (how much water you use for the coloring).
If I were you, first, I'd try coloring without this paste-the-lineart-on-the-board-thingy. Develop your own coloring style, and then decide whether you need to do this or not

wow, so fast!
First, I have to say... these are really good, especially for a starter (well, were these your first water color paintings? it looks like you already had some experience ).
You got what I wanted to point out with the pencils and: you use different color shades. Good job! I'm somehow proud of you xD and I'm glad I could help you
