Description
Context: During ProtonJon's stream of playing Wario and Mario, Jon was talking about how Wario caused all the trouble by dropping various objects like a bucket on Mario's head (or Peach/Yoshi if picked differently) and the only way to take it off was to direct him towards Luigi to take it off for him. Which leads to the question: Why can't he take it off by himself? Thus this drawing was born.This was a lot of fun to draw, but ended up rushing the coloring process to post it in time.

Well, actually, there is an actual (albeit, dumb) reason why Mario doesn't just remove the bucket: When its upside-down, the Mario is under Wario's control.

That's what some people were saying during the stream, but in terms of how if that was communicated in game, it doesn't really give us enough hints that Mario is being controlled by Wario and the only entity that controls Mario via changing directions was the fairy.
