finding locations is always about keeping you eyes open and not being afraid to ask your firends. i have some kitchen ideas i want to try, but my kitchen is fugly, so im just going to start paying attention to friends kitchesn then ask someone who has a nice kitchen to use it for an afternoon. just give their parents a bottle of wine or something. being inexperienced i really cant pay for sites or models. so i just pick some of my prettier friends and ask them. after i shoot them a few times they get more comfortable. and i started with things they like. i know about 10-12 girls from the barn where my girlfriend rides. i went to a horse show they were all at and shot them just so they could have nice photos from that. but now they have seen what i can do, so it puts me in a better place to ask to shoot them. maybe the first time will be still horse related concepts and nature. then i can ask some of gfs closer friends up there to do some of the other stuff i want that takes 2 or 3 models. use family as well. even if you dont post, more just to get better with all your gear so when you do get a paid location and stuff you are fully ready not still learning.

Great lighting from the window, and I like how she is silhouetted against the bright light. Also, I like the old-ish feel of this picture; the way that attic seems old and forgotten adds a nice atmosphere to the picture.

thank you very much. i spent a while waiting or good light conditions and playing around with different areas in the house.

Hm, to me this got a bit too monochrome. It's probably because I'm a sucker for contrast. But still I liked the lighting in both [link] and [link] better than in this.

The best one is definatly the last one though, as it is sharper and "cleaner" than the others. You've allowed yourself a way faster shutter and a bigger apperture which really makes the image a whole lot better (why have you used so small appertures in the first place by the way?)

Back to this picture in particular, as it was this one you wanted some feedback on.

I think you could have gone a bit closer here to kinda clean up the composition and lines. Right now theres alot going on in the frame so I'm having somewhat of a hard time letting my eyes rest on something.

But, on the bright side you seem to have found an awesome location! So if you've got the chance I suggest you go up there and do it again!

thank you very much for the feed back. ill keep that in mind about the appature and ill be more mindful of composition this time.

i would like to head back before the summers end.

cheers

This is another very successful image I think you're good at working with natural window light. The black and white gives this a nice clean and simple look as well.

I like that! The idea's great... it catches my eye with a little icon, which is what I think is one of the most important initial attractions! The setting is great... very nice
