Well...I scan the photo and go on picnik, and I mess around with the exposure and adjustable threshold to clean up the lines and whiten the background (because my scanner always scans paper a weird tan color) and then I just use the Doodle tool to color it in, using a mouse which is honestly a pain in the butt

I know the feeling, I don't have a tablet so I have to go over any lineart on paint.NET with the line/curve tool.
