I have been thinking about teams with colors red and blue versusing each other lately. The first thing that comes up to my mind is the Cold War. The Cold War is a war of propaganda, spies, and media between the two superpowers: the USSR (red) and the USA (blue).

It's difficult to understand at first, but if you thinking more about it, you might get it.

Instead of Team Magma and Aqua fighting for land and water, how about idealogies? Team Magma would represent socialism, and Team Aqua would represent capitalism.

I decided to try something new for this deviation. Completely new. Instead of using the burn tool to do my cell-shading, I discovered a new way to shade with less problems, thanks to this tutorial: [link] It's far easier than using the burn tool and scribbling it all over the place.

From my view, the shading looks better when it's hard with a little soft touch, not scribbled and too soft. I am glad that I made this improvement. About the hair...I am going to keep it the same way it is.

I am trying to make this picture look like a Soviet-style propaganda poster, but I am not really the type of person who makes propaganda posters, even though I tend to support socialism and liberalism.

P.S: I was wanting to add Sapphire to this picture, but uhh...she deflected to Team Aqua.

In Kanto, you command Pokemon to use Rock Smash. In Soviet...I mean Magma Hoenn, Pokemon commands you to use Rock Smash!

I was wanting to give Ruby a working class outfit, but he looks better as a soldier, he's supposed to look like a Soviet solider, but he looks more like a PLA soldier. xD Also, Kagari looks like Cooking Mama in a soviet style, even though she's supposed to look like a factory worker. I think Kagari is more interested in Ruby than Team Magma's idealogy.

I wanted to add in a statue but with Maxie's body and face, but it's too much for me, so I drew out factories, and a communist-style Team Magma logo.
