Here's oNE other piece of pixel-y Owlboy art while I'm still on a kick for it :,D Bit of a minor spoiler for one of the characters, but his other design was too cute to not draw, and it doesn't make too much sense out of context anyways ;DI'd wanted to make a sorta '3d coin/pin' thing for a while actually. Kinda like the collectible keychains in Kirby Triple Deluxe or some other virtual toy like that.

I realized after the fact it probs would've been good to like- record my interface for all the lil layer effects I did to get the pixel art working, but this tutorial here is the basic process I'm working from if you need a point of reference :> danfessler.com/blog/hd-index-p…

I love how the textures of the coin twitch slightly, looks like something straight out of a PS1 game.
Twig looks excellent on both sides. The colors are well-executed.

Haha thanks! That's pretty much an unintentional effect of preserving the sharpness of the spritework itself when animating around in 3d :,P

OOOOOOHHHHH I LOVE THE COIN/BADGE FLIPPING ANIMATION!! THAT'S AWESOOOOOME!! Again, as usual, just amazing, amazing work that's just so gosh-darn lovable and cute and impossible to resist! (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o)))♡
Perhaps it's in his design, with fur/hair and tufts on the side of his face, but Twig, to me, looks like a cat spider creature. XD Something abiut Twig just reminds me of a cat when I look at him! Perhaps it's the Cheshire grin, the tufts on the sides of his cheeks, the appendages on the top of his head, the fact that he looks furry? Not too sure, but there is something there.... >w<

I did up a piece of Alphonse a week or so back in pixel-y style too >:,D I was in loVE with the game from start to finish, and even though I've been jumping around a bunch of other different games while still on my spring break, that one's been sitting with me when I unearthed it from my steam library to play (it was gifted from my wishlist on my birthdAY AND HERE I AM 3 MONTHS LATER)
and seriously tempting me into jus- straight up replaying it right away, which I don't end up doing very often ;;v;;

gOOD LORD YES IT IS. I eventually just had to start taking bunches of screenshots as I played cause I was in love over the visuals to absolute heck ;A; (I even have some animated desktop backgrounds for it atm cause they're just excessively peaceful to look at ;v; )
It's suPER hard for me to get sucked into something to the point that I'd do constant art for it for a long while, but it's deFINITELY HAPPENED BEFORE SO I CAN COMPLETELY RELATE HAHA
