guess what? im a big fat nerd for AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER.
if you dont know what avatar is, or you have the urge to mock me, than git along little doggies.

alrighties, sooo, i love avtar so much that i have spawned a brainchild also known as a FANCHARACTER. *head explodes*
soo yeah. its for the because theyre holding this sort of contest thing for oc.'s. and so i wanted to see if i could make it in. = D
okies, so here is my entry:
Name: Lum (pronounced like "loom")

Age: 13

Gender: Female

Height: 5'2''

Weight: 96lbs

Hair: dark brown, usually in a messy bun thats loppsided.

Eye Colour: gold

nation: Fire

Occupation: tag along/vagabond thief

Family: 1 mother: Who likes to gamble and is constantly stressed, or just too self absorbed to care about whatever else is going on around her.
1 father: Who also like to gamble. He has a drinking habit which is usually the cause for why he is never around, creating more stress for the mother.
5 brothers: All of which are thieves or just plain badasses. lulz.

best quality: She has a knack for being able to lighten moods and spirits when situations are grim, and when push comes to shove, she proves she is a talented fighter. She is a skilled thief as well. :F

greatest flaws: Her less than serious nature can become very irritating. Aside from her lack of maturity at times, she has a bad habit of taking things that are not hers. Her most prominent flaw is her clingy personality. Because of her upbringing, she tends to cling to anyone she meets, hoping that person can bring her some desperately needed stability.

bending skills: fire.

fighting skills: she is pretty average, but can become a bit more of an intense fighter when situations turn for the worst.

personality: She is usually immature, flippant, and has little respect for the law. Being a bit of a thrill seeker, she sometimes purposely gets caught, just to see if she can get away. Her thieving habits usually get her into the worst of trouble, and her upbringing is ever prevalent in her everyday life.

background: Her family was either too absorbed in themselves, or just didn't care enough to give Lum, or any of her siblings any attention. This is the reason her, and her brothers, turned out the way they did. The only real connection she made to any one of her family members was to her second oldest brother. He cared for Lum when no one else really would. He showed her how to be a good thief and taught her basic bending skills. (Although, most of her talent comes from practice). When Lum was around 12, her brother left home to join a group of other thieves. Like him, the rest of Lum's brothers, all older than her, left home too. Either leaving on their own or with a gang, soon it was just Lum, her mother, and her father. They started to waste all their money on gambling and seemed to forget Lum existed entirely. Desperate and hungry, she resorted to the thievery skills her brother had taught her. She found she was a pretty good thief, and slowly stole more expensive things as time went on. But this eventually ended when she got caught stealing from a weaponry store. She managed to escape and ran to the ferry terminal which had boats that traveled around the kingdoms. She lived around the terminal for a while until she saw warrants for her arrest. She decided her best option was to leave the Fire Nation and travel to the Earth Kingdom. She slipped onto a cargo ship headed to the Earth Kingdom. Eventually winding up in the Earth Kingdom, she wandered around for a while until she ended up in Ba Sing Se and decided that it would be safe living there in complete anonymity
