You stretch with a smile, reaching the cabin with Smoker just as the sun sank behind the mountains. "Wow, it's huge!" You comment looking around.

"I can't believe he talked us into this..." Smoker mutters unlocking the door and leading you in. You smile a bit following him in.

"Wow.... Lovely." You murmur, it was nice, very traditional, not as fancy as Mihawk's place though. Smoker sets the keys on the table and shrugs off his coat peering at you. You peek at him and offer a smile. "The house is nice too."

Smoker looks away with a small smile. "Heh you're something else..." He breathes. You take off your hoodie and go through the fridge.

"Oh, awesome I can work with this. Take a seat handsome," You tell him getting what you will need for dinner. Smoker chuckles and sits down watching you. You start to cook, humming to yourself thoughtfully. Smoker rests his chin on his fist, trying to think of something to say.

".... Nice... Weather we're having today..." He comments.

"Mhm, very nice the walk up here was really relaxing." You agree, smiling to yourself.

"Yeah..." He inwardly cringes at his awkward response. You giggle peering back at him.

"You're so nervous Smoker, and I haven't even tried to make a move." You tease lightly. He scoffs and looks away.

"I'm not nervous, I'm just not sure what to talk about." He grumbles. You smile bringing over his plate and setting it in front of him.

"I don't mind silence Smoker. You're the strong silent type, I get it." You murmur softly. He meets your gaze briefly before looking down with a smile.

"Thank you for the meal." He rumbles starting to eat. You grab yours and sit next to him starting to eat as well. You soon fall into a comfortable silence. After dinner you both move to do the dishes, playfully nudging each other out of the way.

"I got this deputy." You smile at him.

"Let me help you detective." He rumbles back meeting your gaze with a smile. Damn he was handsome. At that moment the stereo is turned on and Marvin Gaye begins to sing. You both blink, starting to blush awkwardly.

"That explains the cameras. Sheriff must really want you to get a girl." You comment focusing on the dishes.

"He's a weird old man." Smoker puts a hand over his face and sighs. You smile, finishing the dishes and kiss the back of his hand.

"If you say. I'm gonna check in now, goodnight." You breathe. He blinks and nods offering a smile.

"Sleep well." He murmurs watching you go look for a room. You soon return with pursed lips.

"There's only one bed." You inform him. Smoker blinks and chuckles.

"We should've seen that coming." He comments.

"We underestimated our suspect." You joke heading to the room with him.

"Or he underestimated us." He breathes.

"Nope, just you." You correct, getting a confused look from him. You smile and touch his arm, kissing the corner of his mouth. He blinks in surprise at the gesture. "I'm kinda falling for it."

"At this rate I may fall for it too..." He murmurs meeting your gaze steadily. You blush and smile at that.

"That'll be nice really." You whisper.

"Yes but let's not let him win this round." He chuckles lightly.

"Agreed." You grin before diving under the covers. He smiles and joins you.

"Goodnight." He says quietly.

"Goodnight Smoker." You smile cheerfully and promptly pass out. He chuckles watching you in amusement, kissing your cheek before following suit.

You tried to sleep, but you found yourself wandering through that cabin at one in the morning. You sigh quietly, not wanting to wake Smoker, and grab your gun, deciding to take a walk in the woods. The crisp air greets you cheerfully as you go out, walking through the trees. Smiling to yourself you stop under the moonlight, looking over the cliff.

"Doesn't matter what time of day it is. So beautiful out here..." You mutter, sitting on the edge and watching the fire flies dance in the trees below. You let out a content breath, watching with a smile. Something shifts beside you and you tense looking over before grinning at the silver wolf.

"Silver! Did you come all the way over here for me!?" You gasp hugging his neck. He rumbles in response cuddling up to you. Pulling back you scratch behind his ear kissing his cheek happily. "It's such a nice night out I couldn't sleep just thinking about it." You breathe looking back out.

A silence follows and you close your eyes listening intently to the night. "I shouldn't stay out here long, he might worry if he wakes and I'm not--" You turn your head and listen to something, opening your eyes. "Who's coming up the driveway?" You mutter getting up and curling sneaking back toward the house as a familiar truck pulls up. You hide behind a tree as Silver takes shelter behind a bush. Your eyes widen as Kiel gets out of his truck.

'How did he get out??' You wonder removing your gun. As he unhooks something and throws it through the house window. There's a pause and you're suddenly knocked back by an explosion that destroys the whole house. "Smoker!" You cry out in horror. Kiel spins around and you pull the trigger, taking him down with a shot between the eyes before rushing to the burning mess.

"Smoker!?"
