This is the picture i had planned for the 100K. But, i suffered a severe depressive episode, it was terrifying. I lost faith in everything, from art to writing to people. I couldnt see the point in trusting a world that seemed nothing but cruel. I cried until i was sick, turned the apartment upside down in an attempt to find a reason for all of this. Ive been juggling my own secrets, money worries, along with what felt like everyone else's. I had people around me asking for help, but telling me not to tell everyone else. It was like fighting a war on several fronts.

Then i decided to try a new project, and it went wrong, and i faced a vitriolic response that was the final straw on a broken back. I shut down, unleashed everything i'd been quietly sitting on.

I spent many late nights talking to a fimfiction friend, one who let me rant, cry, and take my time....who told me only i could decide what i wanted to do. And another who made me realise i couldnt stay stock still in fear of screwing up. I cant avoid goofing up, but i can keep trying. Its all part of the process.

One night, i sat back down at Photoshop, and began finishing the drawings i'd made for the 100K. I knew if i could make THIS, i could begin again, drawing what i love, regardless. And last night, after several hours on Photoshop, i put the final touch on this image. And i was so relieved to fianllly feel that love for making these pictures again i just sat there and cried in relief.

From the earliest art to the most recent images, Ive changed a lot, improved the quality, learnt to shade better. And the story has been the same, starting from awkward to better flowing. Growing in scope to a massive project.

So i included drawings from all the parts of Sombra's progress as i wrote it. From his young self, to the Tyrant, to the Protector, and finally....after eveyrthing....the Alicorn Sombra.

Its been over 6 months since i wrote that finale fight, so....this shouldnt surprise too many people. I tried again and again to draw his wings, eventually getting inspiration from the Griffons wings. And thus i finally put the image i had of him onto paper. Ive waited so long to upload a winged Somby.. ^^

Thank you to everyone who left such kind comments on my previous journals and status updates, and sent me notes. I hope i got everybody, there's so many...

The title is from a song by Diddy - "Coming Home". The chorus suits Sombra and the Fic nicely:
