In real life, I don't actually swear much at all. But in terms of my comics? I use course language because cute, soft-spoken characters swearing or behaving in an inappropriate manner is a comedic effect. The jokes are not so much WHAT Fluttershy (or, rather, Flutterjerk) is saying, but more the fact she's saying it at all. Juxtaposition and reversed perspective is a just another way to create a humorous situation.
It's not even something I've used that much- only in three comics out of over two dozen. But since I've enjoyed the the mean, desatureated version of Fluttershy who's appeared in the last two episodes of Friendship is Magic, I've found it a useful trope to explore.
