I agree that Louie should be punished, but I don't think that any of them yet appreciate the fact that Della grew up in the mansion, money was all around her. Donald has raised the kids on a houseboat, probably on a shoestring budget, so Louie is so dazzled by all the money he doesn't appreciate what it takes to get it all.

I want her to own what she did to the family though. Louie was not wrong that she did the exact same thing.
He was just lucky he didn't end up on the moon for a decade.
He deserved to be punished, but whooo there needs to be some work done for *her* to earn being able to punish him.

The difference is that she went out on what she thought would be a quick joy ride, the equivalent of taking the family car out for a spin and getting lost. Louie was plain stealing stuff.

No, she went out for a joyride on a stolen, untested ship. When her kids were about to hatch.
Scrooge wasn't done building the thing, and she took it without asking, to do what she wanted to do, regardless of it possibly hurting her family.

Right, but she wasn't robbing anyone. She was irresponsible, but looking for a fun ride, not riches. Also this is what parenting can be. "I know I smoked when I was your age, but that doesn't mean you can." or "Brush your teeth, I don't care if I didn't do it, you will!" and so forth. A large part of being a parent is the hypocritical enforcement of rules that you yourself broke when you were younger.

Yes Louie had a point but, as you said, deserved to be punished.
Della had her consequence by being separated from her kids for 10 years, she didn’t want her son to do the same and be separated from him family, plus after 10 years away from her kids, I’m pretty sure Della’s biggest fear is to loose her kids.
in short, she had her punishment for her actions, didn’t want her son to experience similar consequences for his greed, and one of her biggest fears almost became reality as she saw two of her three sons disappear right in front of her eyes.

Honestly, seeing Louie getting grounded was kinda satisfying. No, I don't hate Louie, but him being so greedy and almost making his family disappear forever, I was glad Della became the responsible mom she should be.
