Description
Here is the first tutorial in a set of Paint Tool SAI tutorials that I am making. I thought that a settings tutorial would be the best to post first, as I will refer to this tutorial in future tutorials.I hope I explained everything well. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
WOW! Thank you so much for the daily deviation!!! It is quite an honor! Thank you!!!

Well sorry for the double answer. I reinstalled Sai and the tablet drivers. In other photoshops it works fine but in sai it still doesn't. Maybe there is a setting I haven't fixed??? :/

Hmm... I've heard of this problem before. You might want to consider doing to full reinstall of your computer if that is possible.

Are the textures/shapes for your brush standard with SAI or are they from a pack?

They are the defaults. You can also download more and even make your own.

do you know how to make the background of a picture transparent in SAI?

Do you mean after you add content to the layer? You can make any layer more transparent by lowering the opacity of the layer. By default, the opacity for each layer is set to 100%. To change it, click on the layer, then move the layer's opacity slider (located above the layers on the layer panel).
I hope that helps! If you have any more questions, just let me know.

Do you know how to change brush settings so that they're kind of like Tegaki E or Facebook Graffiti brushes? Like, so that it's hard and doesn't fade at the ends of each stroke, but its opacity can be adjusted so that more layers of strokes are darker.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with those programs.
But to get the lines to be darker with no fade, the most important thing to do is to uncheck the "Dens" box in the Advanced Settings. The Dens setting causes the line's opacity to fade when stroking. Let me know if this answers your question. I will do my best to help you.
