Here is the first tutorial in a set of Paint Tool SAI tutorials that I am making. I thought that a settings tutorial would be the best to post first, as I will refer to this tutorial in future tutorials.I hope I explained everything well. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I should get a drawing tablet...So much of these settings are for tablets only

I was pretty understand about the brush setting now.

I can't seem to get the Keep Opacity to work. It still colors the white while it is unchecked. I'm not sure why.
btw I love this tutorial!

The effects of the Keep Opacity setting are very very minimal. Basically, keeping the setting checked avoids anyway potential possibility, as small as it may be, of any affects made to the paint when moving your brush into a transparent area (an area that you have not painted or filled with any color, which is white in SAI). For the most part, you probably won't even notice it working. So, really it's just a personal preference. I hope that helps.

Oh okay.
I do have a quick question. If I'm drawing a person and I want to stay in the lines how do I do this without selecting the person? Is there another way? I don't understand how people draw so well and stay in the lines.

How do I get the lines to start and end short? In Linework?

Do you mean like sharp at both ends? Make sure the Min Size setting is low, preferably 0 if you want it to be very sharp at the ends. Also, make sure you have the Size check box checked in the Advanced Settings. I hope that helped.
