Splashsplashsplash
Footsteps echo in the dim alley. Dirty water seeps into dainty silver ballerina shoes. She does not mind the discomfort. She does not care.
She just needs to get somewhere.
Somewhere. Anywhere.
Safe.
Behind her, other steps follow. These however are calmer, more solid and… cold.
She breathes hard. Sweaty blonde strands stick to her porcelain-white face. Her heart pounds in her chest, almost ready to explode. She wants to stop. To give up.
Breathe in. Breathe out.
She gulps in the polluted air of the city. She wants to puke.
No, she must not be weak.
The alley takes a sharp turn. She follows it.
A wall.
Where will I go?
A puddle splashes not too far away.
Blue eyes dart around in a panicked state.
Is this the end?
Footsteps draw nearer.
She looks around for a weapon.
He cannot have me.
A sparkle catches her attention. It comes from a gold star at the end of a stick. The pink ribbon tied around the handle flutters ridiculously. Her hand grips it tightly, knuckles white.
Does she dare?
The unsheathing of a knife is heard so dangerously close.
There is no time.
Savagely, she rips her glittering silver costume. A sharp piercing sensation in the chest. She winces but makes no sound.
Barely any pain is felt.
Pain is for the living.
The wand comes out with a red heart-shaped object stuck at the end. It glows softly underneath the moonlight with electricity.
Her heart.
Hesitation. He is there.
She glances at the glowing object. Her hand closes around it.
A sound so similar to that of a soda can being crushed is heard.
A thud follows.

Antoinette “La Poupée Fantastique” Lavoire Found in an Alley
REVISCA, Cali --- World-renowned ballerina Antoinette Lavoire was discovered in an alley by a little girl on an early Friday morning. The parents heard their daughter’s scream and immediately rushed to her. Upon seeing the cause of such terror, the couple managed to identify the corpse as the “dancing doll in that play” despite the fact “she was heavily mangled and half-naked”.
Police investigating the crime scene were shocked. The dancer who was famed for her convincing portrayal of puppets was mostly made of machine parts. Barely anything was human, once the skin was removed. Half of the deceased’s face was missing, including several vital organs like the heart. What seemed to remain was an empty carcass consisting mostly of electrical wires.
Relatives and friends of the late Antoinette did not wish to comment.
The dancer was last spotted leaving in a rush after her last performance in the Rouge Theater. Reasons for the hurry are unknown.

I'm very confused. I want to ask if this is a true story, because it seems like it could be true, but then the machine parts throw me off. It definitely catches your attention. Lots of good imagery. The artist's comments really threw me off. How does that tie in?

It's purely fiction... but i'm flattered you think it's realistic-ish.
as for my comments... well... i think it's cause i flunked a test to make this... which explains why inspiration is my best and worst friend. x.x
it's not related to the plot more of related to the creation.

I could *feel* your writing. Ouch!
I very much enjoyed this! *Huggles* The news article was a great addition!
If you wanted some critique, maybe it could have used a bit more fleshing out. The sentences got a bit too choppy later on (though it really gave a sense of urgency!), and the soda can analogy was odd, in my opinion!
It opens up a lot of questions... I hope to read more, Denidendenise! ^.^ Keep writiiiiing! I feel like writing now!
(And study for yer tests!!)

den...this reminds me of an anime called: Ghost in shell for some reason.
maybe it's because of the puppet.

I would like to draw for this....can I? if you allow me to. but i will forget..you have to remind me.
