Ok, well, he hadn't been expecting that.

It was just one of their normal meetings. They were superheroes, they were young, they were friends, they liked to hang out and talk about their respective, monstrously fucked-up lives. So when Johnny, hovering in mid-air, just deflamed half of his body, reached for him, tucked his mask up and kissed him, all before Peter's reflexes (so much for Spider Sense, he should get his money back for that) managed to kick in, it was shocking. It wasn't that he hadn't been thinking about it - Johnny was hot, Peter had always liked being on both sides of the fence - but, well, this was Johnny Storm. Johnny Storm, dead straight woman-loving heterosexual male. What the hell was he doing kissing him, Peter Parker, not even very hot male man of the masculine variety?

When Johnny pulled away, Peter was blinking stupidly (not that that was visible beneath the lenses), mouth agape. Johnny, to add to Peter's already gargantuan shock, blushed.

"I, uh - oh crap - sorry..."

Peter shook his head, coming to what little wits remained to him. Was Johnny Storm babbling? Dude, this was getting weirder by the second!

"It wasn't... unwanted, just... unexpected," Peter reassured him. Johnny grinned, cockiness back in place.

"The best kisses are unexpected," he said confidently, not without a hint of pride. Peter had to chuckle. Johnny was acting like it was the greatest thing that had ever happened. That was just cute, and cute was something Peter would never have dreamed of associating with Johnny before tonight.

"Yeah, well, do it again anyway, even though I know you're going to."

Johnny smirked and pulled Peter into another kiss, which Peter actually answered this time. Unexpected though the best kisses may have been, this one wasn't bad either...
