why would someone pay 55bucks for that when me a 14 year old can draw an extant replica of it ?

Actually I think this may be harder to make than you think. One: its watercolors. A very unforgiving medium, if I may I add. Second she is working on a smaller space, and its a lot harder to get the details look amazing (as she has done here)
I am in AP studio art (as a 10th grader) and i dont think i would be able to do this.Of course i would love to see you make an "extant replica of it"

Then you have a very talented 14 year old. Just because a teen can do it doesn't mean it isn't worth 55 bucks! Actually I feel bad that you are being so insulting to your kid. I would think he deserves that amount too if he can do the same.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Another thing to take into account is quality of paper and size. I could be misjudging here, but it doesn't look like $5 paper. That's something else to remember when thinking about the cost of an art piece.
Note: The person is 14, rather than having a kid that's 14. They just don't know how to use grammar.

Ya I caught that. I read it so fast I didn't realize it until after I posted. Yes the quality of materials is also a consideration. This person is young yet and doesn't have a clue (not insulting I didn't when I was 14 either. I did full page images for free in high school. WTF was I thinking?).

Actually you are short changing yourself and a long with other artists with similar talent. If you see how things are priced in the field this is cheep. I remember how I use to do stuff for 10 to 15 bucks or even free because I felt "guilty" for charging. But then when I realized how much time and effort I put into something (plus how much I paid for a degree later on) and how people can take advantage of you you begin to realize your pieces like this are work 55 bucks!

Well aren't you lucky most artist don't get art supplies for free. Question how do you get it for "free" is from our school or is it that your parents paying for it? Cause if so you really don't understand the costliness of art supplies. I really don't think the artist above gets her supplies for free or has mommy and daddy pay for it. Oh wait lets talk about when you have to buy your own pc and if you are using photoshop or high end graphics programs be prepared to drop 3 grand or more between PC and graphics programs. Then tack on what you do for traditional mediums.
Seriously, kid get some real world knowledge before you attack someones pricing on of their art. Soon when you pay for your art supplies, rent, bills, travel ext you will realize that your 15 buck drawings aren't cutting it and you will want more. However, when you raise your prices people will be upset because you practically gave it away. I speak form experience. I am not trying to be nasty but giving you something really to consider. Most original pieces I seen in galleries go for hundreds of dollars. There is also a huge difference between selling an original piece and a print. I ask please do some research before speaking.

my parents dont pay for any of my stuff i earned the money for my laptop babby sitting for a year and a half and selling art.And I get my supplies for free because i use #2 pencils witch they give out for free at my liabary by the box. And i know what its like to pay the rent my father is disabled and cant work so i have a part time under the table job at burger king. My mother is a tramp and doesnt do shit for anyone and has 5 diffident bf's, and i have three younger siblings that depend on me for a role motel and moral support! I'v know some real world knowledge since i was 5 and watched my #rd step father get torn away for us and areseted in front of me. I understand that u r only trying to help but dont make consumption's (sorry if that's spelled incorrect ) pls. I ask u to no someone before judging.
