Description

I feel bad about not posting more personal things on here (I mainly do that on my tumblr now) and I've been meaning to update this for a long time so here we go!  Plus I sort of needed to do this as this is a nice way to keep all the things that inspire me in check.

Sharpie91-This girl's artwork got me into digital art.  When I saw what beautiful fanart she was creating with sai and her tablet I promptly went to dust off my old tablet and try to make it work.  I actually studied color theory through her pictures, and modeled her style extremely closely for a long time before branching off into my own style.  My sketchy style was created through many of her techniques tweaked to fit my liking.
Hayao Miyazaki/Mamoru Hosoda-I never get over how stunning and beautiful and heartbreaking these two directors' films are.  Three films of theirs that I am particularily influenced by are Whisper of the Heart, Howl's Moving Castle and The Girl Who Lept Through Time, who all easily make my top movie list.
TamarinFrog-Her artwork gave me the push to get into pokemon roleplay groups, and we all know how that turned out.
Kazu Kibuishi-One of my all-time favorite artists.  I particularily adore the various short stories he drew for the Flight series and his grapic novel Daisy Knutter, which I really need to get around buying a copy of.
Elixrmy-Another one of my idols.  She inspired my cell-shading style and I use her for my anatomy and pose studies.  Plus she is just an absolutely delightful and beautiful human being.
Pixar-One of my biggest influences, if not the biggest, as my mom worked there as a sculptor and I've had the privilage of touring the studio twice.  Everyone is amazing, the people are amazing, the workplace is amazing, I've watched the movies too many times to count-I really really adore them.  I used to want to work there but now I'm more content just interning there in the near future (as I'm quickly finding that the movie industry isn't the best fit to my personality and drawing skills).
Gravity Falls-The eye style I use was actually originally from this show (its changed A LOT) not to mention I just plain adore everything about this fantastic piece of entertainment.
Viria-Her art is mind-boggingly amazing and simply beautiful.  She was also a huge influence on my sketching style and coloring.
Kung Fu Panda-I have no idea why its this particular series of films that speaks to me so well, but whenever I watch them I feel like I'm handling a scared treasure.  All of the films (and the T.V. show connecting to it) are masterpieces.  I'm going to probably be a nervous wreck when the third movie finally comes out.
Calvin and Hobbes-These hilarious and beautiful little comics are the reason why I decided to become a cartoonist.
Cucumber Quest-I love Gigi as both an artist and a human being, and I adore everything she does.  Her sense of humor is priceless and her webcomic never ceases to amaze me.
Rise of the Guardians-Probably the film that has had the biggest impact on me.  Before this film I did art as a hobby, but the minute I walked out of that movie theater I knew I wanted to do it for a living.  Actually right after this I went home and found Sharpie91 and my art adventure just sort of snowballed from there.
The Bourgyman-He was one of my first introductions to deviantart, and his comic style is simply amazing.  I am a huge fan of The Three Little Princesses and his webcomic SuperCrash!
Drobvirks-Everything about her style-from her anatomy to her color-is simply perfect.  Simply.  Perfect.  Plus Seed is an amazing webcomic you guys should really check it out yeah.
Pokemon-Jesus, this show was the reason why I even started drawing in the first place.  From it taking up my childhood to taking up my roleplaying groups, this fandom is the main reason I can credit to my interest in art and fandoms.  This show will always hold a very special place in my heart, regardless of its corniness and puns.
Raina Telgemeier-Her masterful storytelling in her pictures is an inspiration to me.  I own the majority of her graphic novels and avidly recommend them to people.  I sypathize with so many of her struggles and hardships, and her books are a thing I read when I'm having a bad day.
Super Mario Galaxy-I LOVE THIS GAME I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IT IS A FRIGGIN' MASTERPIECE Rosalina is the best princess kay kay
Yotsuba&!-If any of you are wondering where the inspiration for LuLu and all of my little kid characters came from look no further.
Japan-From the anime to the culture-I really love Japan for some reason.  I think its just how things are so different over there, and all the bright and cutesy flair makes it so fasinating.  It has really influenced a lot of my work, and I'd love to go visit it someday.

Oh cool!  Actually most animated films really inspire me (I have an insanely long list) but I left out a lot as there was only a few spaces left on the sheet. XD
