DeviantArt is a place for anything but pornographic and illicit contents. It was born that way and stayed that way, it's what make both its richness and downfall. We're all confronted at some points to "fetishes", or what people consider to be "fetish". After all, the fetish of one is totally innocuous to another and vice-versa, though some can stomp on others' personal feelings. The fact is, you'll probably always find someone to be offended by something, but such individual feelings should not be taken into account, that's what lead to a place of no expression. Submissions should be bound by strict guidelines, and that's what DeviantArt do. Accepting difference, and that other people like other things than we do is what makes people move on.

He might be annoying to you, but he isn't wrong on that fiction and reality are two different things. I understand fairly well that you tie overweightness with unhealthiness, since it's the reality of the medical condition, and why you think it's something that shouldn't be done. It's rather obious. But I don't draw thinking "yay, let's draw an unhealthy character!", that would be a misconception to think I do that. I draw with different body types in mind, not illnesses or unhealthy people.

I like to draw it exactly because it removes all the constraints that are inherent to reality, that make overweightness an health issue for many. Also, because it's aesthetically unusual, pleasant to the eye (to me and many, that is), and that I believe that such body types should also be represented positively, though that it's not about promotion, but acceptance. I don't think that anyone should remain that way if they're unhappy with it. However, if they really understand what it implies, and choose to stay how they are, they have the right to more than scorn and intolerance, and to not be represented only as lazy, digusting and ugly individuals.
