With the absence of Dottie, Lulu (Rolan) needed a Mini in her team that could summon magic spells. After hearing about a sage who could command blizzards, Lulu visited Switzerland to visit the Frost Wall...only to realize that the sage wasn't there. She then journeyed into a snow covered tundra, and eventually found Rune, a prodigy of the Frost Arts. Lulu soon returned home with Rune by her side. The most mature and responsible out of his siblings, Rune is a studious Mini who is usually seen in Lulu's library, reading. He values his intelligence, and prefers to outwit the opponent. He takes a more technical approach to combat, which usually makes him lock horns with the more physical, rock-headed Ragnar. Nevertheless, he cares for his siblings and his teammates through and through. He can command blinding, blistering snowstorms and whip up ice mirrors, spikes, and other obstacles with his magical ice staff to bewilder and frustrate the opponent, until laying down the final blow. He's surprisingly tough to beat, even if you have a Fire-type on your team, because his icy obstacles never melt!

Moves:

Abundant Blizzard: Whips up a harsh blizzard to raise the power of Ice-type moves, lower accuracy, and damage each turn with intense cold. This overrules other attacks which change the weather.

Icicle Field: Creates a field of sharp ice which damages opponents on the ground each turn.

Ice Mirror: Creates a mirror which protects him, while countering the opponent's special attack with double the damage.

Frozen Grounds: Covers the ground in ice, limiting movement of sparring members who can't fly. This greatly lowers Speed.

Ice Needles: The target is struck from all sides with magical ice needles. This move will not miss, and may lower the opponent's Sp. Def.

Frost Cry: A haunting voice is heard, which threatens to deplete the health of all sparring members. In three turns, they will all faint.

Ultimate Move: Subzero Endgame. Rune freezes the target in an unbreakable ice crystal. The opponent suffers a OHKO. In return, Rune's Sp. Atk and Sp. Def drop sharply.
